Imagine having this team with embiid a few years back, makes me bitter
Edgecombe tells the Celtics to suck on Valdez nuts
I’ve been hesitant giving VJ props until I saw him in a real game. The kid is the real deal. I wasn’t real happy when they drafted him but I’ll take my crow well done. This kid is going to be special.
ITS OVER JUST GIVE US THE OBRIEN
We watching the presser tonight, boys
Even without Tatum the Celtics are tough, especially in Boston. Great way to start the season. Edgecombe clearly gives us another young player to be excited about.
any time you are mentioned in a “most x since Wilt…” stat, you know you did something special
Post game thoughts.
Not surprised embiid and grimes struggled. Both guys basically missed all of camp and embiid 17 mins total since last year coming into this games. The positive is grimes started getting going and embiid looked healthy. I think 10-15 games and we’ll really see what we have in Joel.
Maxey is fully back and fully healthy. I think he reaches his yearly all star peak this year.
Edgecomb, what can you say? He’s got skills. I don’t even think he played nearly as well as I think he can. He really looks like a young Dwayne wade. It’s kind of uncanny. Very excited.
Barlow/walker- I liked both guys effort. Barlow with guards could get better as the year goes on. The Celtics are a tough team that plays hard even without Tatum. Both guys belong in the rotation and will only get better as they get used to playing with our guys.
I’m just not a fan of nick nurse. I want to be, but his rotations and his offense just isn’t it for me. He won’t be the reason they lose but he won’t help them win either. Justin Edwards needs to be playing early games. I’m sorry he does. Dnp in game one is ridiculous, I don’t care how much you wanted to win.
I hate watching oubre play basketball. I’m not even knocking him, I just personally hate it.
Also white is a beast. If Boston wants to go full tank at any point, I would definitely trade the clippers pick for him. He’s just excellent.
Fun game.
Surreal to see Embiid in uniform on the sidelines of a close game. I know he’s still ramping up but the optics are insane
Oubre huge shot
Our guard rotation is legit insanely deep. If Joel continues to get healthy/control the game in other ways and PG comes back to his super form, we are going to be nasty. My favorite part is how genuinely excited Nurse seems with this group…the light is back in his eyes!
Game has me shook
I don’t wanna overreact or anything but sixers winning the east and VJ & Maxey are going to be the first Co-MVPs
VJ is the modern day MJ
Yes I Know
Man Embiid really lives rent free in the nba subs head. It’s pathetic heck of a game out of VJ and the first post is shitting on Embiid.
I’ve not seen a more hated player.
Obviously fucking hyped but it hurts to think what this team could be without the PG contract
Wow vj and maxey 2 man already is beautiful. I CANNOT wait for McCain to come back and be a part of this holy shit yall
fuck yeah. Also Lowry basically coaching and out of his seat the entire game was hilarious. I was prepared to walk away happy with a moral victory alone. But what a treat. Also that was definitely off pritchard’s foot at the end. Insane no call. Ball don’t lie
Edging for Edgecombe
VJ has something old school about his movement that’s just really exciting to watch. Don’t really know how to describe it.
Go Sixers, VJ is insane, fuck Keith Pompay
If VJ made those FTs he would only be behind Wilt in most points in a debut
We used to pray for times like this
At the garden. Y’all. Against the Celtics. AS A MOTHERFUCKING 76ER
PG waiting for VJ after his postgame interview was special. I’ll remember that for a while.
Sixers please don’t give me hope
This team looks electric, mannn if we clicking on all cylinders 👀👀👀
Tsunami Papi with a clutch 3 at the end too. This teams is all good vibes rn
VJ and Maxey could actually be the perfect fit? Both fast as fuck, and both absolutely deadly against scrambling defense. Is this Dame and CJ, but one of them actually plays lockdown D? Too exciting.
Okay, so I’m happy we won. Edgecombe looks immediately like a real win, and Maxey was amazing.
The most glaring issue I’m seeing is the issues in pace of play. It’s clear that Maxey and Edgecombe are going to thrive while playing at a very fast pace. However the rest of the team is built for Embiid’s slower pace. It makes sense why Nurse played so many stretches without a center because we don’t even have a single person that can be big and play at the faster pace suited for VJ and Maxey.
Oh brother this Nick nurse is such a fucking douche
Get Jared McCain back in, get Embiid to wake the fuck up, and this is a playoff team.
Another thing though, our depth this year looks so good. Morey has cooked with this one imo
