I’m still thinking about maxey
Maxey and Hurts: Two coaches sons from Texas who are responsible for my mental health
I want Maxey to start rocking a headband. I know that didn’t go too well for Joel four years ago, but he’s already been playing like the MVP with the ‘rows, it’s time to complete the look.
I cannot believe he fell to 21 still.
I really enjoyed how Maxey rolled his eyes when he was hugging Doc postgame. Too nice to tell him to fuck off to his face but that’s clearly how he feels
47 minutes, averaging 41 minutes per.
Mad max.
Watford is such an odd player to me. He has some games where he looks really good and others where he’s just bad. I guess him having such a weird hodgepodge of skills makes him prone to having up and down performances but it would be nice if he could find some consistency so we could have a bigger wing off the bench.
It’s funny that Daryl is such a numbers and metrics guy, but it’s so clear number one difference for this team is vibes. They seem happier.
The cloud of the embiid injury last year hung over and sank this team.
With Maxey as the leader now and a new identity of giving a shit about the regular season and not just expecting a cake walk they just play harder.
Can’t take what Maxey is doing for granted. This time last year a lot of this sub (including myself) was growing sure that he’s at best a good second option who just doesn’t have the ability to scale up as a number one.
He really does look like a different guy though this year. I feel like last year, he was deciding what he was going to do before letting things play out, and just looked out of sync with the game and often out of control going to the net. We’d be so frustrated with him if he was still playing like this! This year though he looks like he is letting the game come to him and is able to react to make the right play. We’ve seen enough players who continually are not able to improve the mental parts of the game, so you have to be thrilled with this.
He has to show he can do this for an extended period of time, but if he continues this play he’s an official star.
PG for All-Defensive if he plays enough games maybe ?
Maxey has stopped those stupid contested layups that always get blocked and returned to having the floater in his bag. It’s completely unlocked his game
Happy the team gets two days off here, and then two days next week. Hope that gives PG (and of course demon Maxey) rest, and Joel the time he needs to get back on the court.
We’d be 2nd seed if we won one more game. We’d also be 10th seed if we lost one more game.
