As a Rays fan, I commend Sabathia for retaliating especially below Sucre’s hips (not at his head). The issue is for the next five years, the Yankees constantly hit Rays batters and intentionally threw balls at Ray’s players heads. I don’t blame CC for this situation, but the Yankees are at fault when looking at the bigger picture.
This is equivalent to me having my coworker's back instead of getting a 10 dollar bonus.
And CC is a Raider for Life!!
I dont know baseball but the throwing balls 100mph at guys is fucking nuts to me. Instead of being thrown out of thr game they should be suspended for the rest of the season. How ist intentionally throwing at someone just part of the game seems idiotic to me
Imagine throwing a baseball at another human being at 95 mph and everyone says you have "principles" 😅😂🤡
Nobody charged him. Dude was a tank
As a Rays fan and Sabathia hater, I must admit that was hardcore and he's earned my respect.
I'm a Red Sox fan. Nevertheless, I admire C.C.'s attitude…here, and when he decided it was time to check in to a treatment center (despite it having been an "inconvenient" time in the Yankees' schedule). I also admired the support he received then from his fellow teammates, manager and the team's front office. Baseball, and life, isn't just (or even principally) about money.
CC is a 🐴 on the mound. Half a mil is nothing to most of these guys. Like a normal persons pocket change at the end of the day. Pretty sad they make all this money they don't need close to half what they make
Imagine having that much money that u can throw away 500k like its nothing….hey cc, if 500k is nothing to u can I have 10k to pay my kids doctor bills please
I think the respect he had among players is one of the reasons that he was a first ballot HOF'er
“Pitchers are the most athletic position on the field” CC :
Honestly good for cc to not go high and inside.
CC is a legend
Cool story, but we call all still agree…… His music factory sucked
To throw at someone’s head after your guy got hit by a ball a few inches of the plate is crazy work. The Rays earned that CC pitch. He should’ve aimed for his head.
All of it is the fault of the league office. They allow it.
If I were Gardner I would've said "Bro, no one's charging you on the mound"
He was so much fun to watch
what was the $500k about?
Cheeseburger Cheeseburger
How could you not admire CC ? He played the game the correct way !
C.C. THE BEAST! 💪😎
Even the batter knew it was coming. Watch him drop his hands as C.C. is delivering the ball. That’s not a hand drop to prep for the swing, that’s a drop because he’s expecting that ball to be nowhere near the strike zone lmao
He was never that good, idk what all the hype was about
I'll never agree that it's okay to hit the batter.
Hey CC. Lose weight
Indians developed him the Yankees bought him.
CC a Real One much respect
I like this channel but can we stop glazing pitchers for throwing 100mph at someone because they did something they didn’t like. Just play better and talk your shit. I’m tired of seeing old heads defending what would be considered assault in any other context
This is so fucking stupid. How does hitting a guy on the other team do anything to prevent Austin Romine having a concussion. So you wanna risk giving ANOTHER guy a concussion? Dumb old tradition that should go away
I believe the Yankees paid him that bonus anyway. Nice to know they still keep it real in the Bronx.
Respect CC
After Jeter and Mo, CC was the textbook definition of a Yankee
It's stupid to me. Retribution for a hit player doesn't change anything that is done in the other clubhouse
Phillies fan for life. CC and Jeter are 2 Yankees ill always have the upmost respect for.
The most gangsta mf to step on the mound 🫡
Notice how no.one even dared take a STEP as if they wanted smoke with BIG CC😂😂😂😂
Romine needs to buy that big boy a steak dinner
guy was paid like $260 million dollars over his career – i don't think he really cared about $500k
Yankees still gave him the 500K
nobody rushing that mound… Carleston Charles ultimate professional… Yankee legend status
Props for keeping the ball low. But calling it “principle” doesn’t seem right.
This is why I think the dh sucks. Pitchers need to get drilled
