Friedman says that Bread is still processing that he won’t be offered an extension and guesses he’ll end up in SJ. Trocheck has been told they’re listening to trade offers for him, and teams are trying to “steal” Laf.

  1. Sounds like what’s been expected, Panarin is priority #1 to trade, Trocheck gets move if the deal is great and Laf is the “change of scenery” player.

What I don’t like is the fact that it sounds like we’re getting lowballed on Laf, but teams find him valuable enough to trade for.

  2. It’s not that I dont want it. It’s that he’s too expensive and too good at his age. Father time is coming for us all.

  3. I’m convinced Trocheck ends up in Minnesota. Panarin to SJ or Anaheim are intriguing. They have plenty of assets but I’m not sure either team is at the point to be buyers in a Panarin

  4. I never even considered SJS because I expected them to be more patient, but if they’re serious and Panarin would accept a trade there, then let’s absolutely dance

Can’t imagine NYR would be able to land a Smith or a Misa for Panarin, but a 1st + Quentin Musty would be a phenomenal get

  5. That is not what he said. He said someone contacted him and said that Panarin in San Jose would be a fun idea. It wasn’t a rumor and it wasn’t even from Friedman.

  6. Reavo!!! holler at your boy panarin and tell him how awesome San Jose is. Make it happen!!

  7. Why is Panarin surprised? They couldn’t reach an agreement earlier this year and not much changed

  8. They certainly shouldn’t allow Laf to be ‘stolen’.

His trade value is as low as it’s ever been right now. No sense trading him unless it’s part of a package that favors us.

  9. Laf could have got us a haul 2 years ago, no serious team will want him in their top 6 now

  10. Hope they keep Laf if the offers stink. His value is at an all time low and I’d rather give it yet another shot next season when the vibes are hopefully better.

  11. If a GM believes Laf can be 70 point player, value to be had. Since he is signed through 2031, when cap will be over $125M.

  12. Bread is an absolute zero in the postseason. I don’t understand who would want this man.

  13. Why even trade Laf? Worst case he continues to be a below average top 6 winger. Best case he finally hits the 30g 80 point mark. At his cap hit with the cap going you will only get a worse asset in return.

  14. Of Laff Kakko and Chytl. Chytl would have been the best player if not for his health issues. He was talented. Laff has talent but its been years now and if he cant break out here he should go somewhere else. I liked Kakko because of how hard he worked his work ethic. I would have liked him even if he never became a scorer. I still think he has some good seasons in his future.
