ESPN has Denver at #9. I love how we are continuing to be slept on. There is no chance DAL or MIA will be better than us, and MEM should regress some with JJJ’s injury and being out to start the season. LAC is a wild card. Denver should be no lower than #5 IMO (behind GSW, BOS, MIL, PHX) and if Jamal and MPJ are fully healthy, we could be the best team in the league next season.

  1. I don’t see how Clippers who have the same bill of health are higher than us. Great to see Philly on team suck it.

  2. ESPN is like C tier for NBA analysis anyway. If Legs and JJ didn’t work there and they didn’t guest Zack Lowe, they’d be F tier.

  3. To be fair, you are argumenting that LAC should be lower than Denver, because they are a wildcard. So is Denver.

To be clear, I fully believe that getting the chip is something we can aim for (I bet on us winning it all), but our success is hanging on so many variables:

    * Murray and MPJ (very injury prone) should both come back close to their top form
    * The bench is relying on Bones being ready one year after being drafted to carry the load – his ceiling is higher than Morris’s was, but Morris was extremely reliable, whereas Bones is amazing, but streaky
    * We are yet to see the fit that KCP & Brown bring in

Nuggets are “lower than expected” on so many rankings, because we are yet to prove that we can manage all these variables, but if we prove that we can, Nuggets are going to be amongst the favorites.

  4. This is mine :-

    1. Bucks

    2. Warriors

    3. Celtics

    4. Clippers

    5. Suns

    6. Nuggets

    7. Nets

    8. Sixers

    9.wolves

  5. I’m actually okay with 1 through 6 (Maybe not in that order), but I don’t see how Miami and Dallas could be better than Denver without injuries. Also, if we have a reasonably healthy season from the big four, I see us being much closer to #1 than #7.

In reality, Denver could win the title, not lose any major contributors, and the still not crack next year’s top 5 preseason power ranking.

  6. I love and believe in this team, but I think 9 is fair. We have a lot to prove with 2&3 coming back from massive injuries.

  7. We have a LOT to prove before we even get on the court as two of our starters are coming off long term injuries.

Also, paying attention to ESPN is foolishness. They still do athlete’s social media reactions to world news. They don’t know sports, and they don’t know news. They’re not worthy of your eyeballs
