  1. The code was everywhere (reddit, twitter, etc) that day. I imagine a lot of people are getting these emails today…

  2. How will I ever recover from the guilt I feel from cheating Ticketmaster?! Thank god they caught this or else they might have gone bankrupt from their affordable tickets and great customer service 🙁

  3. Well that’s some serious bullshit.

Also, how do they know who was authorized to have the password and who wasn’t?

  4. *Bots snap up all the tickets when they go on sale*

    I sleep.

*Actual fans buy using a leaked code*

    Real shit.

  5. then they shouldn’t have had such an easy “code” if it was specific to Season ticket holders. Could have easily curated user-specific access codes.

Bet prices will be more expensive as of the 28th. Tickets were surprisingly cheap the first time around.

  6. This is so stupid. It was their screw up so they should just live with it. All they had to do was give everyone eligible a unique code and this wouldn’t have happened. Now they just pissed off thousands of fans. Doesn’t seem like the best of moves

  7. why did they use a generic code then? i wont win the fight so i wont bother, but im pretty pissed off about this

  8. I’m honestly surprised they clawed back those tickets, usually this is something MLSE would have done. It’s so much easier for them to track now who should have had access to the codes since the Blue Jays season ticket accounts are now directly linked to your ticketmaster account, which wasn’t the case years ago

  9. Just got my email too and came here to confirm I wasn’t the only one. Alas we’ll have to try at 10am tomorrow . Good luck!

  10. I only bought world series tickets but I am assuming they are going round by round. Anyone have tickets not in the wc round cancelled yet?

  11. This makes no fucking sense, sooo basically now all of those tickets are open up come tomorrow for all the bots to buy so they can jack up the price of tickets 300%. I fucking hate society sometimes. The Jays are cracking down on us buying tickets a certain way but don’t crack down on bots buying tickets, this is so goddamn infuriating.

  12. Can anyone explain the point of these middlemen companies like ticketmaster? Why are the Jays not selling directly to the public?

  13. Mine were initially unaffected, but WC2 and ALDS2 were both cancelled just moments ago. Hopefully I can get more tomorrow. I understand the need to give incentives for season ticket holders, but this is really disappointing. Anyone crawling the Reddit for tickets is probably a big fan and probably spends a lot of money on merch, tickets, sn now etc.

  14. My ALDS tickets just got canceled to. Heard from a buddy who used to work jays box office that they had wayyyy more tickets sold than expected with the code and are canceling to “protect the benefits” provided to STHs.

  15. The real question is how long will Ticketmaster hold on to your money before refunding it? Piss poor way to treat a customer.

Now the bots have a much better chance of snapping up the tickets so we can buy at a super premium for Toronto playoff starved fans. Ticketmaster double dipping at it’s finest. Screw you Ticketmaster. I guess when you’re a monopoly, it really doesn’t matter what people think. The best part is that the Jays get to blame the “problem” on Ticketmaster.

The Jays should spend less on upgrading their stadium, and more on treating their fans with dignity and respect by having their own ticketing system. Please, for the love of God, use ANYTHING but Ticketmaster.

  16. This happened once when WWE messed up and gave me 2nd row tickets for 26 dollars or something (presale also worked as a discount). They ended up saying the tickets were fine and nothing came of it

  17. my WC Game 2 & ALDS Game 2 got voided too…I’m going to try again tomorrow but honestly this is really sucky 🙁

  18. That was too good to be true. Got decent tickets for all the games I wanted. It won’t be that smooth tomorrow.

  19. Their fault for using these predictable codes. I straight up guessed the pre sale code for the first game back in Canada last year. The code was “HOME” lmfao

  20. This is a fantastic way to turn your fans off from even wanting to go in the first place, which includes me. 🖕 off and kiss my ass, Rogers

  21. god forbid someone is so excited about your business they’re actively scrounging for your marketing materials to pay you hundreds to see a ballgame

  22. Wait, so people used a code they weren’t entitled to use, and are now upset that the tickets they bought that (follow me here) they WEREN’T ENTITLED TO are being cancelled? Colour me shocked.
