One thing coming out of the Colts’ building this week: the protection issues aren’t *all* on the offensive line. Coaches/players have mentioned RB/WR culpability as well, and Matt Ryan took some blame today.

  1. At least they’re aware they’ve got to figure it the fuck out. Still the think issue comes back to Pinter tho. If the rest of the line isn’t confident that Pinter can hold his own they’re going to be making mistakes too.

  2. Pretty sure the WR/RB group isn’t lining up in the middle of the offensive line but I’m not a football genius

  3. I guess Matt Ryan said f*ck it, put me at RG and QB.

In all honesty, I’m prepared to watch Ryan run for his life again this weekend.

  4. You’re only as strong as your weakest link and PINTER is a…

  5. Of course it’s a full effort. The only thing they can’t fix with communication is individuals getting completely annihilated at the snap. Gotta move someone around or bench a bitch

  6. This is utter stupidity. No one says it’s 100% but this is very little on the people not on the o-line. They have to be better. You should not need help on every play from your WRs and RBs

  7. I may get downvoted but I have also seen JT make a few uncharacteristic mistakes this season. He has whiffed on a block(s), made the wrong cut a couple of times and then he had the error against the Texans when he ran out of bounds before the 1st down line. JT is my favorite player in the NFL, but we cannot solely blame our lack of protection and issues on Pinter. Others should share the blame too (even though yes, Pinter needs to be benched).

  8. I’ve said it in another thread in this sub, Ryan HAS to take responsibility for a lot of the problem. While in Atlanta, he was always one of the highest pressured/sacked QBs. One year removed from that team, they are league average for both statistics. Whether it’s failing to recognize the blitz presnap, failing to communicate to the line/RB’s who to pick up, or just holding the ball and not progressing through reads fast enough, Ryan is culpable for much of the problem.

  9. A lot of plays are designed for QB to be responsible for beating an extra blitzer with part of that being receivers being alert and breaking off their routes.

There are too many where a blitzer is coming free in Ryan’s vision and it looks like he is surprised. I’m sure they look at those and see lost opportunities for chunk plays.

  10. Can we just bandage this for a bit by having split backs on most, if not all, plays and run a block option?

  11. Come on now, ol’ boy got bulldozed at least thrice….the right side of that o-line needs to loom in the mirror

  12. Ryan should take some blame. He’s been sacked 40+ times in 4 straight seasons. It’s not just OL issues, though they have been bad in pass pro

  13. Matt Ryan has the fastest time to throw in the NFL this season by a wide margin. How much blame can he possibly bear?
