1. I’m in the camp of letting him walk. Bad back and bat to ball skills are starting to fade. If he’s turning down $16 million then he’s either going to want $20+ a year or a 3 or 4 year deal. I’d prefer Josh Bell.

2. No idea why everyone wants to re-sign a 33 year old with back injuries on the decline to an extension

3. If he wont take 16 mil then time to chase mancini.

   Rizzos bad back is only gonna get worse. Mancini is a good mix of hitting and defense and will end up costing the same. Hes also younger

4. Fun while it lasted, but I’m not sure he’s worth more than $16 million and he didn’t exactly stray from the low average, high HR approach that we all complain about on here.

9. We already have a bad backed infielder under contract, DJ. Have him play first base, not his best defensive position, but maybe better for his back. Have the young infielders vie for 3B, SS and 2B.

14. Yankees have roughly $70 million freed up from last season after taking up Sevy’s option. We’re going to spend it in the absolute worst ways possible

15. God you guys are so negative. He was always gonna do this. He’s most likely going to resign for a few more years and a little bit higher of an AAV. He’s worth it. The shift ban will help as well. GG defense and power, and the ability to shorten up.

23. He was stable enough. Not to mention, he left a really good impression during this post-season. I would’ve said no too. He can get a little bit more with how he performed.

24. It’s a business move. This is a business. Hopefully we resign him. He’s clutch and has a mark teixieria glove at first. Plus he’s boys with judge. Give him a 2-3 year deal.
