  1. I won’t be mad at o or d line but admittedly after Moore Mooney Claypool I’m not comfortable with our receiving room

  2. Except we have no slot receiver, our WR core is literally only one player different from last year, and JSN is the best slot receiver available (as well as one of the best receivers to come out of the draft in a while). We have a X, X/Z, and Z receiver who all have shown they cannot play well out of the slot. Slot receivers get the most volume and act as a safety valve for the QB. Right now we have nobody who is going to get over the middle for quick throws if Fields gets in trouble. I don’t care how many OL you draft, the pocket can be clean as a whistle but if there’s nobody open to throw to or the D runs overload your QB is in the shit.

  3. Only position I would be upset with is OT. I know everyone is going to trash me for that but I feel like the oline will be ok if healthy.

  4. youre at 9 though, you gotta take what comes to you. if you dont like the oline dline guys available and you think that jsn is a slam dunk then take him. wr is a premium position, and while our room is promising its not proven

  5. *Also we’re already fine at WR. Especially for this team.

And how are we supposed to use these WR’s without a line anyway?

  6. It’s hilarious that we’re all fighting about this.
The Bears need talent at all positions. Almost any position outside of QB at 9 is an improvement. If they don’t address DL and OL at all in the draft, then we can get upset.

There’s some good talent past the top 4 or so OTs in the draft. They can totally draft BPA and still get a starter later on

  7. When it comes to the draft, NFL fans want you to believe that you’re an idiot if you don’t draft best player available and you’re also an idiot if you don’t take position of need early.

  8. Great teams just draft great players because having a great player at a premium position on a 5 year rookie contract is the most valuable commodity you can have for team building. If the players are close in equal value, you would go with need, but is JSN is going to be a top tier slot guy you should take and not worry about having just acquired other WR’s in the past few trades.

over drafting for need is a classic Bears draft move in my lifetime, it’s bitten us in the ass so many times I can’t even begin to count. I have no real opinion on JSN’s ability I’m just pointing out the logic for those who are pushing that.

  9. I’d prefer to go Tackle, but Only positions that’d upset me are RB, Safety, and off ball LB.

  10. I’m no particular order if they’re there I’m cool with

    Paris Johnson Jr

    Jalen Carter

    Tyree Wilson

    Devon Witherspoon

    JSN

*I wouldn’t be mad at Bijan but is definitely like 8th*

  11. The scroll of truth.
The need at Dline and Oline don’t fucking matter, because the only good draft strategy is BPA.

  12. The real mystery is why JSN boosters try to shift the argument to “We should be going BPA, not drafting for need!” when JSN is not anywhere close to the consensus BPA at 9.

This whole pre-draft process has been a pretty eye opening experience in showing how fixed people’s opinions can be once they’re formed. It doesn’t matter that we acquired a WR1 this offseason; it doesn’t matter that JSN isn’t as highly rated now by analysts as he was when Bears fans started looking ahead to the 2023 draft. He was the first guy that people got attached to, and some folks won’t give that up no matter what.

  13. Can we just like JSN and want him on our team? People are looking to much into this situation. I understand we have bigger needs and I support drafting someone else, but I want JSN on our team too. Let me dream until draft day then hate him when he goes to another team.

  14. JSN is that flashy new sports car you see at the dealership while getting your oil change. Damn it’d be nice but do we reallllyyy need it.

That being said I think I’m fine with any position besides LB at 9. OL/DL preferred, but wouldn’t be mad at JSN.

  15. JSN will help Fields develop. If Poles thinks JSN can be an elite WR then we go for it and take a tackle in the 2nd round. JSN can be Cooper Kupp.

  16. OL/DL are so important then why did we do fuck all during FA there?

Reaching on mediocre talent at 9 does nothing but waste resources and time.

  17. Also he has serious injury concerns and not top end speed. I like him but no guarantee he’s great in the NFL

  18. There needs to be upgrades and quality competition on our OL Braxton Jones outperformed his draft position but also given the importance of his biggest weakness, we need to add someone with quality talent and athleticism. In my very humble opinion we need 2-3 OL this year at least 1 in the draft. We have such prestigious OL coach we should be giving him the talent he deserves. Because they add value to every other position.

Does that mean we have to OL @9 not necessarily but there has to be a plan of attack to keep Justin off his back. Remember he got hurt in a collapsing pocket not during a run

  19. All I know is this – we took DJ Moore over getting a first round pick in 2025. We traded #32 this year for Claypool. If we draft a WR with 9 that is 3 first round draft picks worth of capital spent on one position.

Only team I know who did that was the lions and even with 1 of those dudes being Megatron their team sucked for a decade.

Draft DL or OL. If Megatron was in this draft and fell to 9 sure take him. There is no Megatron in this draft though, Marvin Harrison Jr. is next year.

  20. All I want in the draft is a bunch of trade backs and a bunch of picks. We need a young team that’s picked to be the team for these coaches GM and schemes. The more the merrier. 2 1sts next year we can get a blue chipper all day. We NEED a RT and those are found with 2nd rounders
