  1. Snippet comes from the news and observer article posted earlier talking about max.

  2. I love Aho, I have several shirts and Jerseys…..

But I’m not sure he’s the ‘superstar’ we want to build a team around.

I don’t think he’s strong enough to treated like a Bergeron, Crosby, McDavid or Tkachuk.

    Also…Fuck Florida. That is all

Edit: to clarify what I’m trying to say.

I don’t want Aho to walk. I want to keep him, I was referring to the ‘This is his team now’ comment.

The Canes are a Team of talented players, not a superstar anchored with support…and if we were Aho wouldn’t be that super star.

  3. I want him to stay but I hope he does something relatively team friendly, I feel like 10m would be a bit of an overpay but idk if we can do less than that.

  4. Lock him down, he’s valuable all over the ice. Find a goal scorer to put on his line

  5. I was reading an article yesterday about that Leafs should trade for him. ..but he should never hit free agency and it should get done

  6. I would take 8 years at 10m all day. That gives us a fair contact during his prime years right in our cup window. If he walks that sets our franchise back quite a bit. It is entirely worth it especially if the cap keeps rising. Most of the season he played with a 2nd year jarvis who put up 39 points and inconsistent wingers on the other side and still put up his highest g/gp mark. Larkin just signed for 8.7 who I think is a close comparable. I would be totally fine giving him around a mil more AAV than DLarkin. It would be near impossible for the Canes to acquire a player of Ahos caliber via free agency as the asking price would be above 11m and Carolina has never been a huge spot for star UFAs especially at a discount. Exploring the trade route, if Aho walks you lose him for nothing and to acquire a star center to replace him you would have to trade the farm. Unless he’s asking for north of 11m, you pay the man for the best interest of the franchise. The team doesn’t have any bad contracts, which makes it all the more of a no brainer.

At the end of the day I feel a team would give him 11m+ on the open market and we would be lucky to have him for less than that.

  7. For some reason some Vancouver people think the Canucks are interested in him? Very strange rumor with no substance and I have no idea where it came from.

  8. It’s Aho’s world, we’re just living in it. And I’m fine with that.
