  1. JD and stanton had a great game. We’ll take what we can. Onto the next.

  2. Happy for Donaldson, I’m sure there were a lot of questions running through his head during his time on the IL. Hopefully he can put up some good numbers this year for us

  3. The silver lining is that Donaldson is now Barry Bonds and G is looking very comfortable at the plate, I’ll take it

  4. At least the injured list showed up tonight, from both sides of the ball.

  5. this starting rotation is one of the worst in baseball its a real problem. no can go through a 3rd time, no one can go past the 6th, and no one can pitch with a lead its embarrassing

  6. if sevy isn’t gonna be a consistent starter for us then we have a serious problem

  7. Rotation went from being discussed as the best in baseball during the offseason to a major liability

  8. A soul for two souls. The baseball gods taketh BADER , but giveth us Dongcarlo & Donaldson

  9. You can tell volpe is pressing. Swinging at everything trying to get a hit. Front hip still flying open before the pitch is delivered

  10. I’ve always like JD because we have the same name, glad to see him come back playing hard.

  11. If Donnie hits 120 OPS+ and keeps running round like a kid with a cannon at 3b he’s going to ~~piss hot~~ win the trade?

  12. Severino spit the bit, but good to see Giancarlo and Tommy Tight Pants back, and what a nice surprise to see out of Donaldson.

Tomorrow, Cole shoves. Sunday, German vs a rookie kid. Yankees win this series.

  13. This was over in the first. I’m satisfied with Stanton and Donaldson being moral victories

  14. Fingers crossed Sevy is ok, that’s all that really matters I think. Stanton usually takes a while to lock back in after an IL stint but the fact that he hit a bomb off a great pitcher is encouraging, and you can’t be upset about two Donaldson homers, maybe he has something left? Tough L let’s take a W tomorrow

  15. You know what, I’ll take it. Bad outing for Sevy after his first two were nails and if Donaldson can homer like this our offence will be nice.

  16. If Volpe doesn’t pick it up within the next couple weeks and Peraza keeps banging, you have to make a change. I’m not giving up on the kid, but his swing is a little concerning

  17. Nothing you can do when the starter shits the bed

Hopefully cole gets back on track tomorrow. Things are going to get crazy if he sucks and that era gets over 3

  18. MLB released their pitcher power rankings and Cole isn’t even in the top 10. A month of shitty pitching will do that.

  19. To What degree Of confidence Do You believe Carlos Rodon Will step on The Mound this Year ? It ‘ s a Sad state of Affairs when Schmidt And German are Giving Gerrit Cole A run For his Money . We Needed that 162 Million Dollar Mustache Yesterday .

  20. Great game by our returning players. I’m fine with the L if we can continue this

  21. whats really concerning about volpe is that he’s actually getting worse and worse the defense and base stealing have completely evaporated

  22. Severino needs experiences like this to grow…he’s recently back and he will learn something from this outing. We need him to learn from this so he can actually be good in the postseason!

  23. Hard to win when the starter lays an egg right out of the gate. Just need a good start from Cole tomorrow.

  24. Unfortunate game but if Donaldson can give us anywhere near the 120+ ops from just 2 years ago that would be huge. He was close to 100 last year (94) so here’s hoping.

  25. Send Volpe down, bring Oswald up.

He needs to fix his headspace (and probably be humbled a bit with a demotion) and that’s better done in AAA. Also helps that Oswald has more than earned a call up.

  26. Like my dad texted me during the first inning, “what the fuck I’m going to bed”

  27. Cardinals sent down Jordan Walker for a month. We need to do the same with Volpe. Admit we’re in over our head and call Peraza up.

  28. We’re not gonna win every game, this was a West Coast trip against the Hall of Fame pitcher. But there were some very encouraging signs tonight.

  29. glad to see this whole thread shitting on Volpe. now I at least know this whole fanbase is deluded. EVERYONE cried about getting him to the majors and now a rookie is playing like a rookie. but go ahead lets do this with peraza too.

im an admitted doomer too which is the worst part. some people will never be happy
