Don’t need no *DeAndre “Ed Lee” Hopkins* when you can get the real thing
At least one person will freak out on Twitter thinking that they signed him instead of Hopkins
We got our guy
Hopefully he’s just keep D-Hop’s roster spot warm for a bit
Hopkins at home:
The Ed Lee era begins. Who apparently had limited success in college in Rhode Island. Huge acquisition by Belichick.
We still only have 89/90 players with this signing . If the patriots want DHop there is still a spot open for him. Or better yet they could release someone .
The team was short on receivers during OTAs so makes sense to release Justus and pick this guy up.
Season’s over.
Just a general note: I often wonder what coaches/scouts/GMs are looking for in players when they are filling out the back end of the off season roster. Is it just a question of treating the young guys like scratch tickets who may flash into something, so why not take a flyer on one?
And even then, are you thinking for guys who have already shown they can perform (high floor guys) who can do emergency duty, or athletic freaks who may have flaws in their game/whose college game doesn’t translate to the pros (e.g. Kent St. running QB) and see if you can do something useful with them?
At this point in the off season, certainly after the draft and initial rush of UDFAs are signed, whoever is left is like shopping at Ross to find luxury goods.
They misspelled DeAndre Hopkins.
Fuck it, let’s bring him and D-Hop.
All the WRs!

They really spelled DeAndre Hopkins wrong…
He’s been a Pat’s fan since age 8.
This kid must be a fuckin animal on the lacross field
The pallet of Gatorade they just ordered for camp will have a bigger impact on their success this season than Ed Lee.

Broke out in 22 with 56 catches for 908 yards and 5 TDs. Under 400 yards in the prior 4 years. Returned punts this last season.
