7. Can we not sit Newman? I understand giving guys some days off, but Newman’s not hitting well right now and maybe EDLC and McLain make a better pair in the field.

9. I recoil every single day these lineups come out and I look at 7-9. They inevitably have any two of Barrero, Newman, Benson, or Myers who simply don’t produce. Newman will occasionally get a hit or a random solo tater, but outside of these occasions we’re giving up ~2 innings of offense per night.

   Give the kids a chance. Bring em up, move em around, make square pegs fit in round holes. I’ll take errors over consistently terrible production.

11. Newman is a decent utility player. But if we’re going to play DH roulette, why not bring up CES to play third and DH? That plus Friedl is a pretty kickass lineup.

    Also, Benson could have a day with those guys hitting in front of him and Syndergaard throwing meatballs (hopefully). Dude’s been getting it together and hit a laser last night, plus seems like a good dude.
