  1. The rays may be going off, but sweep this doubleheader and we’ll tie Baltimore for second place

  2. I don’t like that we’re having a double header in shitty air right before the Red Sox series (while already handicapped). I hate losing to Boston under any circumstance

  3. We’re either about to praise the genius of Boone or #fireBoone, there’s no in between.

  4. You think Volpe is out just for the first game of the doubleheader or is he dead

  5. Rays up 3 runs while getting outhit 5-3. Following their games is brutal

  6. I’m supposed to visit my friend in Manhattan tomorrow for the weekend. Do you guys think it’ll be safe?

  7. I just spoke with an older man who sounded exactly like Rickie Ricardo. After establishing that it wasnt actually rickie on the phone I told him he had the perfect voice for radio. He laughed and told me “I was a radio host in Columbia years and years ago, it’s good to know I still have the voice to do it. too bad i cant profit from it.” I told him to never say never with a voice like that.

  8. Orioles are 4-6 in their last 10 games and currently down by 3 in today’s game. Perhaps they’re starting to slip some

  9. So we are still playing today. Shouldnt be a surprise coming from the league who handled playing during covid the absolute worse of all sports.

As a person, i tried to get my dad to work from home because he shouldnt travel into the city and deal with that horrible air quality. So i dont feel like the players should have to play in this type of quality while the state is recommending no physical activity.

Selfishly, as a fan, i am happy that we get to watch baseball

  10. Anyone else having trouble exchanging tickets from yesterday’s game through ticketmaster? Seems like everytime I try exchanging for another game I get hit with the “This event currently has no seats available”

  11. I’m not surprised at all that we are playing a game today, but it is pretty ridiculous to be playing a double header.

Some of the players are going to be exposed to this air for 7-8 hours, rather than just 2.5-3 for a single game.

  12. Curious to see what the crowd looks like today/tonight. Will they find out in this mess?

  13. Funny how ~10% improvement in air quality is enough to go from postponement to a double header

  14. For all the new yorkers stressing about AQI in the 200’s, I have unfortunate news for you. The AQI in the New York Subway System is consistently in the 300-600 range and gets into the thousands at certain stations. For many commuters you breathe this toxic air every single day for hours per day.

Don’t take my word for it though, see for yourself: https://gothamist.com/news/think-nyc-air-quality-is-bad-on-the-street-try-the-subway-station

    https://rosap.ntl.bts.gov/view/dot/64127

Edit: It’s not measuring AQI in the gothamist article but the air is still highly toxic

  15. Rays have their typical good pitching and bullpen, but I have absolutely no idea how their offense has improved this much.

Their team OPS has gone from .686 to .813.

28 year old journeymen like Luke Raley and Jose Siri are suddenly slugging at Stantonian levels.

SLG is up almost across the board for their players. 7 of the players in their lineup today have SLG over .450

What the fuck is going on?

  16. Does anyone know if Luis Gil is projected as any kind of option this year? Or is he a 2024 return?

  17. I’m not helping the cause, but I’m here for cheap tickets. My fiancé and I did bring a mask just in case it gets a little much. Not too worried but being cautious because we were here Tuesday

  18. Uh oh, Lance Lynn has been terrible this season. Hoping he doesn’t pitch 7 shutout innings against us.

  19. John Sterling is gonna be looking like Dennis Hopper in Blue Velvet if this shit keeps up

“Casamigos? FUCK THAT SHIT! Pabst Blue Ribbon!”
