How many more rings could they have won if kd stayed ?

I do miss kd a tad bit 😂 but he hurt Steph a bit

  1. Well seeing as how KD tore his achilles and didnt play the same year as when Curry broke his hand, they don’t win anything in the 2019-2020 season. They could’ve possibly won the 2020-2021 season but Draymond missed a lot of games that season and still no Klay either. Their bench was really bad then. So when you look at it they only would’ve won 1 more ring, possibly this year makes 2.

  2. 2020: Everyone hurt so no ring

2021: Klay hurt again so no ring

    2022: Warriors won with/without KD

    2023: Steph/KD/Dray would’ve carried 10 vet mins to a title

  3. It’s not that interesting a question but let’s give it a brief look. Let’s assume all the same injuries happen including Steph’s hand and Klay’s Achilles. I guess we get to assume that they also keep Andre, but never get Wiggins:

2019-2020: No Steph (hand), Klay (ACL), KD (Achilles). Result same – Lakers till win a lame bubble ring

2020-2021: Steph back, KD back eventually (so for the playoffs), Klay out (Achilles). I assume they do not sign Oubre if they have KD. A team of Steph, KD, Dray, Loon, Andre, Baze, Poole, Rookie Wise, Paschall, Lee, Mulder etc. is still pretty good. I say they make it out of the west. Hard to say if they beat the Bucks, but I like to think they would.

2021-2022: Everyone back minus Wiggs (but with KD). Yes

2022-2023: Everyone healthy most of the year. Gotta say looks like they would have a pretty good chance …

I’m saying they win 21 and 23 and are looking for the threepeat in 23-24

  4. Probably the same as the dubs got lmao. Maybe they get one more in ‘20-‘21 but klay would have been out the whole year and KD was out until December. Probably would have had a low seed in those playoffs so a title would have been an uphill battle. Last year is a wash. If we’re looking forward, sure they would have better prospects of winning championships. But looking back, KD staying probably doesn’t make a big difference.

  5. Prob 3. Possibly overcoming 1 year of Klay injury.

Steph/KD as a 1-2 punch is super deadly

  6. 2020 they still suck since KD and Klay are both out. I think they win the title in 2021 even without Klay. With Steph/KD/Dray, they almost certainly think they can win a title, so they’d have traded the pick that they used to pick Wiseman to bring in a significant “win now” piece, maybe even Andrew Wiggins if he doesn’t get traded in 2020. But I’m thinking they’d target some wing with defensive potential.

In 2022 there’s little reason to think they wouldn’t win it all with Durant (assuming they have that defensive wing, whoever it is). Maybe they draft Herb Jones with the late first round pick they’d have in this scenario.

And then I think they’d probably have run out of gas by this year and lost to Denver or whoever the top contender is in this scenario.

So I’ll say +1 ring. 5 overall, 4 for KD

  7. This year and 21. Obviously we don’t win 20 because of injury though

And obviously we still win 22.

  8. KD staying is the worst thing that could happen to Steph’s legacy

  9. I agree. Kd staying would have hurt Steph, Dray and Klay’s legacy. He was one hell of a warrior, but now he’s a damned phoenix sun, who hogs the ball. Kd made a colossal mistake. He had more fun here than anywhere else. If he did stay, then the dubs would have won 5 championships in total, but that’s only if they sign GP2 as well for the bench.

  10. I think we would’ve won in 2021 even without Klay

Both Steph and KD were on other levels that year

So basically we’d have 1 more ring than we have currently but we’d also be deprived of the 2022 finals and the significance of that win

  11. The ring last year without him is far better than the two with him.

Don’t get me wrong, rolling the league was fun, but its not the same.

  12. Probably the same but possibly 2 more. Obviously they don’t win in 2020, maybe they win in 2021 but Klay is still hurt so it’s not a guarantee, definitely win in 2022, and maybe 2023. It would largely depend IMO, with what they do with that #2 pick. Do they still take Wiseman? Because part of taking Wiseman was the belief that they had to get younger to compete, but if you still have the super team, that thinking probably isn’t still there. Also don’t forget, Wiggins isn’t here either
