  1. The decision to pitch Bednar was fine in theory, but it really ended up being a stupid decision in the end due to some awful defense by the Pirates.

Regardless can’t complain about anything with this game. Hayes looks like the Hayes people expected him to be.

  2. Brain dead move by Shelton putting in Bednar.

So glad Hayes has his groove back

  3. Bizarre bullpen management aside, good way to get back on track.

Hayes being a key offensive contributor will be absolutely crucial to hanging around until Cruz returns.

  4. I made a bet with my dad who grew up in queens that Hayes will end the series with a higher ops than lindor. He has not let me down so far

  5. I understand getting Bednar a little work, for the most part. But, like, Z was actually pitching well (for him) and Bednar isn’t used to pitching in no pressure situation.

So, you’re fucking with the confidence of two people to…uh…what was it again?

  6. Damn i was really scared that they were actually going to blow a double digit lead …this team man

  7. First game I’ve been to this season they’ve won! 1-3 so far maybe this is the turning point

  8. My mlb.tv app started crashing after the first out in the 9th and I told my wife “ahh whatever, nothing is going to happen with two outs to go in the 9th anyway.”

  9. Bad news bigots. If they play like this every pride night then every night needs to be pride night.

  10. happy lgbtq+ ballpark day mf’s and wow this dub feels good . hope the A’s can hold on and let’s build of this !

  11. Yeah I support the LGBT community.
    Let’s
    Go
    Bucs
    raise The jolly roger

I kid, but it was awesome seeing the Pirates showing a lot of support for Pride Night and capping it off with a big win.

  12. I’m going tomorrow if Cutch doesn’t get 2000 I’ll actually lose my mind.

  13. Brilliant move to allow the Mets to score a few in the 9th. Now we’ll both be dormant on offense tomorrow😎

  14. Thanks, buccosbot. No thanks, Shelton. What the hell was the thought process there?

  15. Great night at the ballpark. Offense showed up in a big way, Hayes had himself a day and absolutely *nothing* funky happened to give us all nightmares late capped off with a great fireworks show

Let’s go bucs! Happy Pride everyone

  16. Great game but which one of you started a fight with the Mets fans in section 108? 😂

  17. If Omar Vizquel had been a league average hitter, he’d have been a first ballot Hall of Famer — which really understates the degree to which he’d have been one of the greatest players to ever set foot on a baseball field.

Ke’Bryan Hayes is that great a defender. If he’s truly made an adjustment that could make him a league average hitter, he’s the most valuable player on the team — it would be absurd to suggest anyone else was close.

I’m not like in the fan club or anything but I just find it infuriating the extent to which some yinzers worship at the altar of batting average. If Hayes ever gets to the point where the yinzer on the street considers him an average player, fair to assume he’s about as valuable as Mike Schmidt or Brooks Robinson.

  18. Brewers lost to the As. Back in first place. A side note, Hayes would be leading the brewers in batting average.
