Domonique Foxworth With a Solution to the RB Conundrum

Performance based bonuses do not count against the cap and are based on playing time, salary, and performance.

This is an easy way to bridge the gap and I wish it was brought up before the 17th.

  1. Doesn’t quite solve the problem, running backs have a relatively high rate of injury and wear and tear. What he is suggesting wouldn’t improve the guaranteed money at all for running backs which is what running backs want because they know they could very well get injured or end up losing a step.

  2. This is literally the opposite of guaranteed money, which is the main thing the players care about. If they’re not going to offer more guaranteed money, the needle isn’t going to move too much.

  3. Don’t performance based bonuses count against the cap though? And what year they count against (if earned) depends on if the performance is likely to be earned or not?

  4. This is probably the worst idea so far. It would make more sense to just give the RBs a bonus on their rookie guaranteed contracts.
