  1. * The 2023 Mets are 59-68 in the regular season. The Mets have scored 565 runs and allowed 594 runs. The Mets have played in 9,774 regular season games with 4,711 wins, 5,053 losses and eight ties. The Mets were 101-61 in 2022. The Mets are 23-28 in day games, 37-41 at night. The Mets are 31-28 at home and 28-40 on the road this season. The Mets are 134-139 on Wednesdays since 2012, 10-12 this season.

    * The Mets are 9-13 in August, 14-8 in July, 7-19 in June, 15-12 in April and 14-15 in May. The best June record for the Mets was 21-7 in 1990 and the worst was 5-21 in 2018. The Mets were 5-24 in August 1982.

    * The Mets are 393-453 and one tie against the Atlanta Braves, 3-9 this season. The Mets are 23-34 at Truist Park. This is the final game against Atlanta this season.

    * Mets pitchers have allowed 472 walks, fourth in the majors and the most in the National League. Oakland leads the majors with 533 walks followed by the White Sox and Angels.

    * The Mets have allowed 85 runs in the first inning, the most for any inning this season. They have scored 40 runs in the first inning.

    * The Mets are 36-16 when scoring first, 22-50 when the opponent scores first. The Mets are 48-24 when scoring four or more runs, 10-39 when scoring three or fewer runs.

    * In August, Pete Alonso has a 173 wRC+, Tim Locastro has a 172 wRC+, DJ Stewart has a 160 wRC+ and Daniel Vogelbach has a 144 wRC+.

    * Francisco Lindor has a nine game hit streak. Jeff McNeil has a seven game hit streak.

    * Daniel Vogelbach has a five game hit streak. No, that is not a typo.

  2. This is going to unironically be a crazy good pitchers duel. Morton turns into ’95 Randy Johnson whenever he faces the Mets, while Quintana has been surprisingly more-than-solid since coming back from injury. This could actually be a 0-0 game going into extras.

  3. Seth Lugo with 6 scoreless against the Marlins today. 3.70 ERA in 109 innings this year. Feel like he could probably opt out in the offseason and get a 3×12 contract. Nice to see him prove he can be a decent starter

  4. The Mets announced to reporters, including Tim Britton of The Athletic, that right-hander Tyson Miller has been designated for assignment. His roster spot will go to righty Sean Reid-Foley, whose selection was reported earlier today. Righty Reed Garrett was optioned to open a spot for Reid-Foley on the active roster.

  5. So far this series, I’ve only heard the chop come through once over the broadcast and that was when it was initiated by the scoreboard/PA in the middle of an inning. Otherwise, you’d think it was any other team/fanbase. Well done, SNY crew.

  6. I want a win tonight. Mets gave away last night’s game. It was winnable.

With Quintana on the mound if the Mets offense can step up this is winnable too.

    Let’s GO!

  7. I feel like I’m being prepped for the eventuality of Pete no longer being a Met with this reporting.

  8. Let’s fucking go! It’s time to win this series, go on a run, and control our own destiny!

    YA GOTTA BELIEVE!

  9. Real talk though, I think this is one of the most important games we have left. The effort that goes in tonight, what our team looks like when in a rubber match with “the best team in baseball” can make or break our momentum as we go up against the odds to try to make a wild card spot.

Beyond that, I think it also will be a real test for 2024. Our team will look a little bit different, but our core will still be here, and let’s see how they come through when faced with adversity and pushed against a wall.
