  1. What a night, the Twins’ final run came in the eighth on an RBI double by Dan Gladden off Worrell, who stayed in the rest of the game for the Cardinals. Jeff Reardon retired the side in the ninth to give Minnesota their first World Series victory.

With the victory, Tom Kelly became, at 37, the third youngest manager to win a World Series. Only John McGraw, who won the 1905 World Series at 32, and Frank Chance, who won the 1907 World Series at 30, are younger.

  2. God the Dome was so loud. Like ear shattering. Terrible place to watch a game, but what memories lived there!

  3. I went to game #6 as a seven year old. Remember the atmosphere leaving the metrodome like it was yesterday.

  4. Fun fact for nerds like me: the ‘87 World Series is the only one where the bottom of the 9th was never played.

  5. I love all the youtube comments of people doing the Oscar:

“well acually, this was their second because in 1924 the senators won it …”

As if any actual Twins fans gave a damn or even accept the 1924 TITLE. That WAS NOT THE TWINS!
