3. People don’t realize how much having connections with other GMs helps.

   It’s not just that they’re friends.

   If John Lynch goes back to TV one day, he could be in a position to help these people– if they get fired, Lynch could help get them a job– so they are inclined to do him a solid and give him a better deal than they would otherwise.

   High school never ends.
