[Passan] The Pittsburgh Pirates are acquiring left-handed starter Marco Gonzales in a trade from the Atlanta Braves, sources tell ESPN. The Braves will send cash to the Pirates and receive a player to be named later.

6. Will be interesting to see how much cash we’re sending. It had to 100% be the plan all along once we made the trade for Kelenic to also turn around and trade Marco away pretty quickly. But this is for those who thought we were “settling” on Marco Gonzales as an answer to our starting rotation concerns (but, I also didn’t necessarily hate him as a #5 option even though the price wasn’t ideal). Seems like we’re still going after a MUCH bigger signing for the rotation.
