This might be our best lineup

This might be our best lineup

  1. Dlo is not getting benched. So realistically I think the best lineup once Gabe gets back is.

    Dlo

    Gabe

    Rui

    Bron

    AD

  2. People gonna complain about perimeter foot speed but who gives a fuck when you have 4 6’9 athletes all over the court. I’m about it

  3. From a defensive perspective I would put prince in over rui for quickness.

That way you could have Vando POA.

    Reaves guarding the shooting guard.

Prince on the 3 chasing instead of Bron.

    Bron on the PFs

    AD guarding 5s.

Rui and Bron on the floor makes 1 of them have to exert too much energy defensively on quicker wings.

  4. No cuz DLo is the only and I mean only person that unlock AD and unlock the fridge for Zion fat ass.

  5. If Rui can get his confidence back, and play like he played in the last game, yes. 4 scoring options, 2 great defenders in Vando and AD, 1 good in Bron which can turn into borderline great (Rui can be good too, and AR is fine), and with a clutch gene in AR, this is one of the best lineups we can play.

Only problem is, Rui playing at the same position as Bron. Unless and until you want to prioritise AD for his scoring over his defence of a 5, whereby you end up putting Rui defending the 5 instead (make things difficult, not really stop them, as would happen in the case of Giannis, Joel and Jokic), this lineup would still run into problems. We need a good playmaker instead of Rui.

  6. Yes! Prince and Dlo shouldn’t start ahead of Rui and AR15. Others (Not Lbj/AD) should learn a thing or two from AR15. Learn to draw fouls and attack the paint instead of settling for the 3.

  7. I don’t think this is our starting it finishing 5, but didn’t we have this lineup against the Warriors during last year’s playoffs a lot?

  8. I mean … if you put the team throwing 50 threes and score like 6 … maybe you just need to be smart and abuse even more the paint without killing AD.

  9. I would swap Cam in for Rui. He plays better on ball defense and can keep up with most ball handlers and use his size to close out on smaller guards. Plus gives you the same output on offense if not more. Rui can start against teams with multiple slashing threats on offense

  10. The Lakers are well built to run hedge, trap, and switching defenses. We have a ton of perimeter length and speed but not a huge amount of true POA defenders.

We are not built to run deep drop. AD is an incredible drop defender but without a good POA defender that can navigate screens well, we only half half of the equation. So why we keep doing it is beyond me. Last season we had Dennis. We haven’t had Gabe, who is one of our few good perimeter screen navigators, for most of the season.

  11. This is just a long winded way of saying dlo reddish and prince are playing like complete ass. Which is accurate.

  12. I genuinely thought the only reason this wasn’t the preferred lineup was because injuries. Like I thought this lineup was common sense. Other than DLo’s salary keeping him in he starting role, I have no idea why this isn’t the 5 that gets most minutes together

  13. This hands down is our best lineup. Outside of injury management there’s no good reason to not roll this lineup out on the floor.

  14. Bron-AD-Rui-Reaves-Prince/Vincent in my opinion should start and close games I know people love to hate on Prince but he’s shooting 41.7% from 3 last 15 games. Seeing the positive regression.

That lineup has enough defense (matchup dependent for the Prince/Gabe swap) and leaves you with 5 guys the opposing defense has to respect. Cam and Vando are just not reliable enough offensively and to easy to game plan against. I know we hang our hats on defense but if rando bench guys are going off every night we need firepower to match

  15. It’s good but I don’t like Austin being a starter. His and teams stats are worse when he’s a starter. When I watch the games as him being the starter he just runs around with the ball and doesn’t get anyone open or passes the ball.
