A new fan

Can I just say that going to the Yotes game in Philly has me converted? I have a new Western Conference team!! Had several great conversations with fans, all just upbeat and hopeful for the future of the team.

And it’s been a very long time (I don’t think ever really) since I’ve seen players do so much for their fans! Keller is clearly a gentleman and really shone at the ASG. He stopped on his way off the ice, went to the locker room, and returns with an autographed stick. Bjugstad sat on the bench to autograph someone’s hat during warmups. Dumba handed some SE Asian fans a puck and stopped to say hello. Dermott traded a roll of pride tape for a puck. Just all awesome to see and an ode to the AZ athletes building connections with fans.

I’ve admired Ingram for his bravery and openness since the bubble. As a mental health worker his courage to come forward and candidly share his journey is inspiring. Connor saw my sign and nodded and smiled. That’s all I expected to happen and was happy enough for him to see he makes an impact. At the end of warmups he stops on his way off and gave me his (clearly used, which is awesome) stick! Yes I did ask for one, but had no expectation of getting one, though I do try and collect sticks of players I like/admire.

P.S. Kings jersey was in honor of Durzi who you flat out STOLE from LA!
