Surprised? Mets actually did the right thing with him and Scherzer. Foolishly, never should have signed either one in the first place.
He’s done. I’ve never doubted Verlander before, but at this age, I think he’ll come back for a few games, shit the bed, and then be put back on the IL before he retires. Great career, great pitcher. But he’s done.
