  1. He s probably done for the rest of the year or at least he should be. The fact that he stretches so much and is very flexible probably prevented a more serious injury

  2. Shoutout to Brian Sutterer MD, he was all over the “doesn’t look as bad as it seems” last night. also called the bone bruise part

  3. I imagine that means he’s done for the year, but will be at full strength & conditioning levels for the beginning of next season

  4. He’ll probably be rehabbing into the offseason, but the work he puts into his body probably helped him avoid a catastrophic injury here.

  5. Glad to see this confirmed 🙏 ! Saw Woj’s tweet 19 seconds after he posted it up, and attached it to 2 or 3 of the threads here for everyone waiting on the news about AL P today.

As far as the severity goes? That could be tricky, but for any of us here that also follow the Astros, you’ll remember that pitcher Ryne Stanek did something very similar looking to his ankle last year during a fielding play, and in his case he was shockingly only out for maybe a month or so, if I recall correctly. I’m sure a bone bruise could complicate things more, but hopefully the recovery timetable won’t be too crazy.

  6. Great, now don’t let him touch the floor the rest of the year. The season is cooked, let the other guys get more touches and potentially another high draft pick back next year with a healthy Alpi/Adams combo.

  7. Sweet baby Jesus thank you. No need to play him the rest of the season. Nothing to be gained.

  8. Thank god! I was so certain it was at least an ACL.

Sit him as long as he needs, make sure he’s ready to break out again next year.

  9. Omg I dont care how few free agents the Texans sign. Thank you spaghetti monster in the sky!
