Joe Hortiz: Teams “are gauging my interest” in trading No. 5 pick

Trade Parter for Rome/MHJ?

  1. We aren’t beating an offer for a team that wants a QB so we can move up for MHJ

  2. If we trade up to 5, this better be a slam dunk pick.
“With the fifth overall pick, the Jacksonville Jaguars select, MHJ. Swag”

  3. Definitely. I bet Baalke has already called the Bears too about trading for the #1 pick to grab MHJ. Yup. No doubt in my mind. 100% facts. No BS here. Definitely taking this post seriously. Yuuuuup.

  4. Going from 17 to 5 would cost a ransom that would be foolish to pay for a WR unless they were Calvin Johnson/Randy Moss level players.

  5. I remember shitting on the falcons so much for trading up to get Julio Jones. It worked out better than I thought, but they still didn’t win it all. Was it worth it? Idk but my fandom is telling me go do it anyways.

  6. No way MHJ lasts past the cardinals right? If that’s the case, I get why this 5th pick is perceivably undervalued. All the tier 1 qbs will be gone, the best of the rest (MHJ) will be too, and the pick can be flipped in a somewhat deep draft class. I’m not sure it’s worth what it would cost.

  7. I would trade down our first and 2nd this year and 2nd and 3 next year for mhj. He will be that special.

  8. If first 4 are qb. What would it take to trade up to 5 or 6? I’d do our first and second this year and first next year but idk if that’s enough

  9. I just don’t know how the Chargers move away from a guy like MHJ without getting a million picks in return. They traded Keenan Allen, cut Mike Williams, and QJ was awful last year. They need receivers.

  10. Gotta assume, if we’re trading up at all, we’re hoping for one of the top 3 receivers to fall past the Falcons.
