So effectively, Bengals and Panthers traded Vonn Bell with Nick Scott with Panthers retaining 85% of Bell’s salary for the year, while the Bengals get the 6th round comp pick for the departure of Bell/Hurst (the other negated by Orlando Brown, and netting a third round equivalent for Jessie Bates).

    And the true irony is that Bell is twice the safety Nick Scott, who was absolutely woeful last season.

  4. He was the starting strong safety for the Bengals last year until they played the Ravens where he missed 8 tackles. Then a rookie Jordan Battle took over as the starting safety…um yikes.

    I guess depth is ok.

  5. Started all but 1 game for the Rams in 2022, w/ 86 tackles, 2 picks, 5 PD. By far his best year.

    2023 played for Bengals starting 10 of 17 games, 57 tackles, 0 picks, 0 PD.

    PFF Grade of 44.0

    Good depth signing?
