1. I’ve seen prospect rankings with rating that seem to not have large gaps in talents between rounds. Either it’s a deep class or a shit one right?

2. Especially with all these QBs, I feel like a lot of the 1st round is going to be players way out of reach where we were anyway, or flat out just not a position of need. Makes sense to load up a couple extra picks

3. How do NFL teams judge what will be available during their pick? Scuttle butt? Mock drafting other team’s needs? Groupthink?

4. I don’t know why this is a hard concept to grasp. They got more picks, the talent gap is insane this year. A lot of players are going to be forcibly taken in the first round just for the sake of it.

5. We will trade up if there is someone we want on the board that slips. Also not drafting in the first round saves money since first round guaranteed money is a good chunk of money over 4 years.

7. I’m not mad at all they trade out of the 1st. I’m confused as to the timing if it. We made a draft day trade way before the draft.

   With over a month at that point to draft day soooo much more could happen to have someone’s stock rise or fall.

   However unlikely, there could have been another Aaron Rodgers situation where on of the QBs doesn’t get picked and falls. There could be another Leremy Tunsil where news breaks and a top 10 talent falls on draft day. Not saying we draft these guys that fall, but wouldn’t our pick become much more valuable all of a sudden if there is a top15 “value” in the 20’s? I could be wrong because I’m no NFL GM, but I assume the value we got back wasn’t astronomical, and the only increase in value would be from exploiting a desperate team trying to up/back in the 1st round.

   I’d be very interseted… Has anyone does a historical analysis of what our pick got in past drafts on draft day trades? Would love to compare that value with what we got.
