True story though this isn’t as bad as bandwagoning a team you have no connection to: Years ago when the Warriors were kinda just starting to pop off I worked with a guy from San Francisco who had moved to Minnesota, and I was like “So you a Warriors fan? They’re doing crazy good.” And he was like “What? Really? I haven’t paid attention in years because they always suck.”

    Then like two years later he’s Warriors geared up, got Steph Curry errything, like #1 Warriors fan. Lol. I don’t actually blame him at all, Fairweather isn’t as egregious as bandwagon IMO. But I did give him shit for it all the time.

    Even though I find it abhorrent, I do understand it; Curry was a huge catalyst for a lot of kids across the world getting into in the NBA over the last decade—lord knows the Wolves weren’t inspiring people like that. But I also don’t think there’s anything wrong with (gently) shaming fans of the opposition. We want Target Center to be full of Wolves fans. Never know, maybe this convinces a couple of them not to come next time.
