  1. A lot of people are saying he needs to bake in the AHL for a full season next year but my guess is he’ll make the big club out of camp then go on to break Teemu Selanne’s record and score 77 goals. This is almost a certainty.

  2. It’s good that he’ll get a few games with Abby eventually. Would be nice to see how he does in North American professional ice.

  3. Does anyone know for certain if his entry level slides if he plays any NHL games?

Drance mentioned earlier that if he plays a single game, we burn a year off his ELC. Capfriendly and PuckPedia seem to suggest he’s able to play 9 games though before a year is burned. Does anyone have a solid answer? Seems like nobody is 100% sure.

If it burns a year if he plays a single game, I would keep him in Abby and maybe bring him up for a couple practices. If they can give him a 9 game trial though without burning a year, they should definitely put him into the lineup in the last couple games of the season. Worst case he’s not ready and you just don’t play him. Best case he’s legit and he can be an actual option in the playoffs.

(knock on wood) but if this team goes deep and clearly needs another offensive weapon, I’d be willing to burn a year off his ELC if we made it past round 2. It would be hard to just slot a player in at that point but if you gave him sheltered 4th line mins with PP1 time, could be worth it (like Hodgson in 2011 but actually productive hopefully)

  4. Lekkerimaki has the skills to be good in the NHL tomorrow, but he’s extremely fragile with his current build… I’d like to see him have a great summer in the gym that’s for sure.
