  1. Before people start panicking like they’re doing on Twitter, roster management move which means they needed the cap space to be able to recall Bains

Demko being on LTIR retroactively means he has already missed 6 of the 10 games and will be eligible to return April 6th which matches the rumored 4 weeks recovery.

I believe now Canucks have used 2 of their 4 post deadline callups (Podz, Bains)

  2. Repost from the other thread:

This likely says more about Lindholm’s injury than Demko.

Demko can return from LTIR April 6th, which isn’t much further away

  3. Is mark friedman still on main roster? We need some defensive depth. If we get one more injury there it’s not looking good

  4. Excited that Bains gets another shot, worried that Lindy won’t be in one piece by the time they need him to be

  5. just went through a lot of emotions very quickly between automatically assuming the worse, realizing it was retroactive, thinking it meant joshua was good to go, and realizing bains coming up means he’s not 😭

so basically, and correct me if i’m wrong:

    – Demko will be first eligible to return on the April 6th game against LA
    – calling up Bains uses our 2nd of 4 call-ups (Silovs was an emergency call-up so he didn’t count towards the 4), and using that call-up probably means both Joshua and Lindholm won’t be playing for a little while longer
    – if Joshua comes back before Demko, then we’ll have to send Bains back down again (unless Lindholm is bad enough to be put onto LTIR which I really doubt and really hope isn’t true) to make the cap work

edit: I guess this also confirms that we’re going to see Silovs in a game, since Demko won’t be eligible to play either game for our remaining back to back (Vegas on April 2nd and Arizona on April 3rd)! Do you guys think he’ll get the upcoming game against Anaheim to dip his toes in the water (will it depend on if we win against Dallas tomorrow?)?

  6. I was kinda hoping Raty would get a look. But probably best for his development to be playing high mins and in all situations in Abby.
