  1. Still some of the dumbest shit ever. Onus is on the Flyers to move the puck and analysts pretended there was a debate.

  2. They should completely remove the offside rule in cases like this somehow.

Years ago the neutral zone was larger and the blueline was closer to the goals. They moved the blueline out to make the attacking zone bigger, but it had the side effect of clogging up the neutral zone and making entry harder.

Maybe if they made the blue “line” a blue “zone” that gave a lot more grace room to entries and exits (e.g. the blueline is effectively closer to the goal for purposes of offsides on zone entry and effectively farther from the goal for clearing the puck and forcing the attacking team to retreat) that would help.

  3. No point of doing this if you’re not in the lead. Ruins fans time and money to see a good hockey game. Smh

  4. If we’re gonna go down I’d rather go down swinging but I get your point

  5. Yes, it’s garbage hockey. However, the onus should be on the team with the puck to attack. That’s how it is in basketball, for instance. The team with the ball is the one that needs to move forward. They have a shot clock to prevent them from doing what the Flyers were doing. Although, basketball also has illegal defences too, so the analogy isn’t perfect.

  6. I’m not the kind of hockey fan who can spot a strategy/play and know what it is, but I can say for certain that the games we play against the Kings are boring as hell. It’s interesting to find out they’re playing “the trap” I’ve heard about for years.

  7. The one forward on the King’s was forechecking though so they weren’t as bad as this. Still super boring but they wouldn’t embarrass themselves like this. I don’t think….

  8. This is one of the funniest things I’ve seen in the NHL.

Who was the coach of the Flyers at the time?

  9. Did they not put a rule in if a team was to do what Philly did? I’m pretty sure it’s a delay of game penalty for the team with the puck not attacking

  10. I love this. The point of hockey is to try and score goals so if you don’t want to even try then fuck you.
