  1. * Crochet was great in his first MLB start: 6 IP, 5 H, 1 ER, 0 BB, 8 K.
    * Jason Benetti was in the visiting broadcasting booth.
    * Kamka: [14 of the 26 players on the White Sox opening day roster will be making their White Sox debut.](https://x.com/ckamka/status/1773081768758776235?s=20)
    * Kamka: [White Sox : 12 different opening day second basemen in last 12 seasons.](https://x.com/ckamka/status/1773415586694918346?s=20)
    * García & Leone threw 1-2-3 innings in relief. Kopech loaded the bases but got out of the inning without allowing a run.
    * The Sox were shut out and didn’t even get a runner into scoring position.

  2. Reflections after the first game…would have liked to see more offense, but to his credit, Skubal is pretty good and we didn’t have great luck when we did hit it hard, in addition to some calls that didn’t go our way. Regardless, we’re almost certainly in the bottom 5 for runs per game this season. Just gotta accept that and move on. The defense looked very solid, and I’m happy with the hustle on the basepaths. As far as the new broadcaster, give him a little leeway. He’s not the guy who scorned Benetti, and for people wondering why he’s being positive, what else would you possibly expect? If he mirrored the sentiment of the game thread he’d be the worst and most depressing broadcaster of all time. He’s by all accounts a good guy and he’s trying his best, no reason to pile on him. You can give your opinion, sure, but calling him a shill or an asshole is unfair and mean.

Crochet was the best part of this game. He looked absolutely great and his only mistake was throwing Javy anything remotely close to the strike zone with two strikes. Whether he factors into the future or is traded at the deadline, he has the potential to put up some very solid numbers this year.

Lots of negativity in here these days, and I definitely understand why, but I’m glad baseball is back. Let’s get ‘em Saturday.

  3. Better pitching than I hoped for. Worse hitting than I hoped for.

Road to 161-1 starts next game.

  4. On the bright side, we scored as many runs today as elite offenses like the Braves and Phillies.

Closest this team came to a walk was when Vaughn had 5 balls in his at bat but the ump called 2 of them strikes.

  5. The only thing worse than watching this offense is watching it while listening to Schriffen suck off Chris Getz and pretend like this team isn’t a 120 loss comedy show

  6. Crochet looked better than I thought one of our starting pitchers would look all year. Shame LRJ made no attempt at the put out, but the fastball to Baez was the boneheaded move that sealed that 1 score fate. Fuck this dumb team sell it Jerry

    Edit: See yall Saturday

  7. Checked boxscore at 3… returned to work. Checked bosxcore at 5…reloaded several times because surely it wasn’t the exact same score, hits, etc…

Gonna be a long season my friends

  8. Offense looked better than expected. This team really might be the worse team in baseball, but won’t have a worse record than the Rockies because of the teams in the NL West compared to the AL Central

  9. Crochet is one of the 2 players that I was looking forward to watching this season. He surpassed expectations.

  10. I actually think I’d be happier if the Sox just didn’t play. There’s literally nothing enjoyable about the organization outside of the hot dogs with grilled onions.

  11. Grifol praising Maldonado’s meticulous game planning is hilarious considering the only run of teh game was scored on an 0-2 fastball to a guy who literally only hits fastballs.
