Inside the deal signed by Jaguars pass rusher Josh Allen

The base value is $141.25 million, which means an average value of $28.25 million.

The deal pays out $35 million in the first year, $33 million in 2025, $23 million in 2026, $24.75 million in 2027, and $25.5 million in 2028. The back end isn’t puffed up; the Jaguars could decide to keep Allen for the full five years of the contract.

The deal pays out $76.5 million fully guaranteed at signing. The other $11.5 million becomes fully guaranteed in March 2026.

  1. Baalke is elite when it comes to contracts. Just wish we had someone who could evaluate talent at an elite level.

  2. 2024 Base salary: $2mil

2025 base salary: $32mil fully gtd

2026 base salary: $22mil fully gtd

    2027 base salary: $23.75mil

    2028 base salary: $24.5mil

  3. That is some serious money, but also what the position pays.

Interesting it is fairly flat in terms of the last years salaries.

  4. Sounds like we got a good deal despite waiting. I mean, it’s possible we would’ve gotten a better one prior, but it’s a wash to me.

  5. He is our most elite player. Glad he is getting paid and hopefully staying a Jag for 5 more.

  6. If spotrac is correct the cap hit for 2024 is $11.15 million, for 2025 it’s $39.4 million, and for 2026 it’s $29.4 million.

At first that 2025 cap hit it had me worried since that’s when we (hopefully) re-sign Lawrence but of course it makes perfect sense if Lawrence’s cap hit in the first year is lower than the yearly average. You bring as much money forward in the year Lawrence’s cap hit is low, then you drop it back down to accommodate the higher cap hits later on in that contract.

  7. The salary cap should increase yearly too. I forget how much the average is , so this isn’t a bad contract

  8. I’m not a cap genius, but doesn’t this open up a shitload of cap space for us this year?
