Surprisingly optimistic after another loss. Take away Julien’s error and that’s a 1 run ball game in which multiple guys contributed at the plate. Take away Santana and Varland’s middle-middle cutter and we would have won!

That HR swing was a thing of beauty(seriously looked exactly like his HR swings from his hot run his rookie year) and he looked honed in every AB tonight

I’d argue that we’d win this one without Varland’s meatball soup. Offense was actually good today.
I don’t want to be a doomer, and there are still 147 games to go, and there are a few key pieces out injured, but I’m starting to think that this year we’re just maybe not gomq.
I mean, we’re starting to get hits, but still not converting enough of those into runs.
ETA: The bats were better today, but we still need to show some consistency and get the pitching and offense firing on the same night.
Not sure you can justify sending Miranda down when kep is back. Or Austin Martin. Wallner buddy…
Meh. Kinda entertaining ballgame. Bats didn’t make me want to gouge my eyes out. Work to do, but not a total disaster.
On other note, Miguel Sano is batting .273
Way too many pitches over the heart of the plate from Varland tonight. Julien botching that double play ball in the first didn’t help either. Nice to see the bats come alive a bit though. Really unlucky on that Mullins catch too.
That’s three games in a row Varland has been shelled. End this god awful experiment and get a half decent arm in there.
I’m not worried until we play the white Sox. If they can’t wake up and hit the white Sox something is very very wrong.

Watching a bad baseball team is the worst. Injuries are a thing whatever while the Royals are doing things. Bad baseball isn’t watchable and makes for a long summer of no sports
