Other than that we rank the teams the same way as our competition. If write ups are left blank the team rep decided not to submit. We encourage any user to fill in the blanks in the comment section.

| 1 | Thunder | — | 7-0 | There's a ton of discourse around the Thunder of whether Shai is a free throw merchant, can the Thunder break the curse and be the first team to go back to back or who exactly is the best player in the NBA. All of that is noise. This is a bit of a weird analysis, so bare with me. 😅 The Thunder have played 14 different players in their 7 games this season, all of who have played at least 10 minutes. Of those 14 players only FOUR of those players have played in all seven games. This is all to say, the story of the Thunder season so far has been resiliency in the face of tremendous adversity. We've had players miss time for all sorts of reasons ranging from minor back sprains to quite literally cancer. Nonetheless, Mark Daigneualt refuses to let any of that be an excuse for the high bar of excellence that he excepts from his team. And as long as Shai Gilgeous-Alexander plays for the Thunder, it does not matter how many second round draft picks or two-way players you put around him – Shai will carry the Thunder to winning games no matter the opponent (or how many overtimes it takes). |
| 2 | Spurs | +12 | 5-1 | Last night definitely pumped the breaks a little on the Spurs hype train, but there's still a whole lot to be happy about with the start to the Spurs' season. Wemby's come out looking like a man possessed and the entire team has a defensive identity that simply hasn't been there for the last several years. Devin Vassell and Keldon Johnson, stalwarts of the tanking years, seem to have fully bought in to their new roles and are playing as well as we've ever seen them play. Steph Castle seems to have taken another leap with his defense, and while his TO issues loom a bit, he's still one of our best players on the offensive side of the ball every game. All of this comes while the Spurs deal with a bit of an injury bug; DeAaron Fox, Jeremy Sochan, and Kelly Olynyk have yet to play a game for the silver and black this year, and Luke Kornet (who looked awesome in our first two games this year) has been since sidelined with an ankle sprain. The Spurs also suffered an additional injury last night, with Dylan Harper (who has also looked tremendous as a natural point guard and has also finished at the rim at an impressive clip so far this season) now sidelined for a bit with a calf injury. Fingers crossed that the squad heals up sooner than later as we enter the gauntlet that is West Group C (HOU, DEN, GSW, SA, POR)—it's gonna be a bloodbath out there. The Spurs have @LAL, HOU (Cup), NOP, @CHI, GSW, GSW (Cup), SAC over the next two weeks. |
| 3 | Nuggets | -1 | 3-2 | The Denver Nuggets have had a strong start to the season, currently holding a 3-2 record and sitting third in the Northwest Division as of Monday, November 3, 2025. In their most recent games, they secured solid wins against the Pelicans (122-88) and the Timberwolves (127-114) but narrowly lost to the Trail Blazers (109-107) on Halloween night in an Emirates NBA Cup opener. The team boasts a top-five offense and defense, making them one of the league's elite early on. Key players like Nikola Jokić and Jamal Murray are performing well; Murray is averaging 26 points per game despite managing a calf injury. The team also extended Christian Braun's contract, signaling long-term planning. The Nuggets are focused on building chemistry with new additions like Tim Hardaway Jr. and Cameron Johnson as the season progresses. |
| 4 | Rockets | +1 | 3-2 | The Houston Rockets have been on a hot streak, boasting the league's No. 1 offense and a current 3-2 record after an initial 0-2 start. In the last two weeks, Houston secured dominant wins over the Nets (137-109), Raptors (139-121), and Celtics (128-101). Kevin Durant has been exceptional, averaging over 27 points and elevating the offense to new heights. In a win over the Cavaliers, Amen Thompson recorded his first career triple-double with 23 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists. The team has demonstrated impressive defensive effort and cohesion under coach Ime Udoka, proving they can be a force in the competitive Western Conference. |
| 5 | Bucks | +8 | 4-2 | The Bucks have gotten off to a terrific start, dropping only two close games: a road game against the Cavs (missing three of our five top ball-handlers) and a Mitchell Irvin ref-ball masterclass against the Kings. What has stood out the most so far is Ryan Rollins' emergence as a star playmaker and scorer — the 23y/o guard has shown flashes before, but is finally healthy and getting the playtime he deserves after KPJ went down 9 minutes into the season. Another revelation has been the new-look defense, including a disgustingly effective 3-2 zone Doc has been breaking out occasionally. Miles Turner is just so much more mobile than Brook Lopez ever was, and Kyle Kuzma appears to have really bought in this year, showing a remarkable level of defensive intensity. AJ Green also continues to be one of the best shooters on the planet. The main concerns would be Giannis' health after bumping knees late in the Knicks win and looking a little off vs the Kings, and Bobby's failure to settle into the new defensive scheme (he's been getting lost on switches/rotations way too much). |
| 6 | 76ers | +12 | 5-1 | Maxey leading the NBA in scoring, VJ leading rookies in scoring and assists, and Embiid still being a PPM legend are all things that needed to go exactly right for the Sixers to have the start they've had. Add to that the steady presence of Kelly Oubre on both sides of the floor and Grimes's propensity to hit big shots in the clutch (except for Friday), and you've got a dream start for Philadelphia. This is even without Paul George and Jared McCain returning yet, though it looks more and more like their time is soon. I'll be honest, I was in on them again this year, but not this in. Now… have they played some weaker competition? Yes. Is their ability to keep coming back from down double digits going to continue? Probably not. But this team is showing an ability to compete and that's something they've lacked for a while. With tough games like the Bulls, Pistons, Cavs and yet another meeting with Boston on the way, these next two weeks are going to give us a real view of who this team is. |
| 7 | Lakers | +1 | 5-2 | The Lakers have been on a hot streak over the last two weeks, going 5-1 in their recent games. Despite the continued absence of LeBron James due to sciatica and Deandre Ayton's recent back spasms, key players have stepped up. Austin Reaves has been a standout, notably with a career-high 51 points in a win against Sacramento and a game-winner versus Minnesota. Luka Dončić, in his return from injury, secured his first triple-double of the season against the Heat and is averaging high scoring numbers for the young season. Under new coach JJ Redick, the team is showing strong offensive performances and an improved defensive identity, lifting their overall record to 5-2. |
| 8 | Cavaliers | -4 | 4-3 | Going 4-3 to start the season with an injury list that reminds me of Covid, the Cavs have two very interesting bright spots later in their rotation in Sam Merrill and Jaylon Tyson. Merrill came out firing threes like a madman, averaging 17ppg on 4.5 3pm/g, while Tyson has stepped up to score 18+ points in each of the last 3 games, all while both are playing hounding defense. Larry Nance Jr. fits beautifully alongside either Jarrett Allen or Evan Mobley at center as a spacer and cutter who plays hounding defense and makes hustle plays. Lonzo looks like a genius playmaker, albeit the timing chemistry is quite there yet. A full health Cavs will likely go 11 deep in the regular season, and everyone minus Strus should be back within the next couple of weeks. |
| 9 | Bulls | +14 | 5-1 | Looking for a ranker, please apply here! You will need to remove the "np" (no participation in the link to apply. |
| 10 | Pistons | +1 | 4-2 | We are just about where I thought we'd be after the first 2 weeks of the season at 4-2. I fully expect us to run the table quite well through Christmas time, so look for a lot of Pistons wins still to come in the coming weeks. Cade is starting cold, as he typically does, with his shooting but his decision making is evolving including a 28:1 (you read that right) assist:turnover ratio in the past 2 games. Ausar is being trusted to be our second ball handler more and looks comfortable in that role. Jalen Duren is showing average defense which is an upgrade compared to last year while being an electric inside presence. He's a unique guy as he plays like a classic big on offense but his defense still hasn't taken a leap (and who knows if it ever will?). We should be entrenched in the top 4 for the conference for the rest of calendar 2025 at least. |
| 11 | Warriors | -1 | 4-3 | One night the Warriors play like a top 5 contender, the next they lose to the Giannis-less Bucks and a depleted Indiana team. Kuminga has finally started to fill a 2022 Wiggins like role and mostly avoided being a black hole offensively which has resulted in consistent minutes. Warriors only have 2 home games in the next 10 and 3 back to back games which does not bode well with their current 1-3 record on the road. |
| 12 | Trail Blazers | +9 | 4-2 | Things are looking much, much better in Portland these days. The defense is stifling behind Camara, Clingan, Holiday, and….well, just about everyone. The defense is equal parts swarming and relentless and comes completely without holes. Even Sharpe, whoe isn't known as a defender has completely bought in. Shockingly, the offense has also been humming right along even with a slow start from Sharpe. It's been buoyed, in particular, by Deni, who has continued where he left off after all star break last year; Holiday, who is having his best season since he won a title with the Bucks; and Grant, who has taken to his new role as 6th man with shocking ease. There is much more I could say, but for the sake of brevity I'll conclude with some rapid fire other stuff: Time Lord is back! Chauncy is gone! Splitter is acting head coach! Thybulle is hurt! Wesley broke his foot! Scoot looks like he's still a month away! |
| 13 | Knicks | -10 | 3-3 | My apology for not having a more esoteric write-up this pass, I'm out in the suburbs of Chicago visiting the family for my grandmother's birthday. Life is fleeting, and I don't know how many of these I'll get to experience again. It's the first time in over a decade this side of the family is all together, and while the celebration of my grandmother's life is obvious, there's a bittersweet undercurrent that only a few of us are really acknowledging. She escaped the Holocaust. Came through Ellis Island and changed her name to fit in so that a yellow star would never be sewn onto her clothing again. In the abject poverty of the tenements of Washington Heights she grew up a tough bird. Married a great man. Raised two outstanding daughters. Is a titanic presence in the lives of her grandchildren. And now she's 85. She can't walk well, her memory is slipping, and her famous temper is getting the best of her more often. How do we reconcile love for what was with what is? I think of Neitzsche's and his Genaeology of Morals: "The sick are the greatest danger for the healthy; it is not from the strongest that harm comes to the strong, but from the weakest." I've too much ennui to connect this explicitly to the Knicks at this moment, but I'm sure one of you could make the application. I went as Peter Griffin for Halloween and won an award for funniest costume. I'm sure my grandma will like that story. |
| 14 | Clippers | -7 | 3-2 | The Unction started the season by getting their pants pulled down in public by the pesky Utah youth, so a 3–2 record isn’t too bad considering the circumstances. A couple of concerns have come out of these past few games, mainly with how big of a hole we have at shooting guard at the moment. Bradley Beal has already had to miss time just five games into the season, and the minutes he has played so far haven’t been convincing. Bogdan Bogdanović, our backup at the two, is also struggling to find his rhythm after his injuries. Hopefully, both of them can come back to full strength soon, but it currently looks like we’ll miss Norm more than we thought. Ivica Zubac’s production has been slow to start the year as well (still decent at 15/8), and while I expect those numbers to return to what they were last year, it’s noticeable that he’s struggling to find his spots in the post so far. Bright spots for the Clips have included the “Bounce Bros” (they call themselves that I didn’t pick it) duo of Derrick Jones Jr. and John Collins, who have provided a constant punch of energy at the four. The stars have started the season strong too, with Kawhi currently shooting at a 50/40/90 clip and Harden’s mid-range seemingly back with him for now. It’s still really too early to tell where the Clippers fit in the West, but for now, they’re mostly healthy and still in the fight. |
| 15 | Heat | +5 | 3-3 | Looking for a ranker, please apply here! You will need to remove the "np" (no participation in the link to apply. |
| 16 | TWolves | -10 | 3-3 | Tough start to the season for the Wolves. In the off season they bet on continuity to get them off to a good start, turns out that didnt matter at all. Combine that with Anthony Edwards injury, a defense that cant stop anyone, and awful PG play you have a terrible start to the season against a relatively soft schedule. With Ant being out for a couple more weeks the defensive fall off, there probably should be a recalibration on what the goals are for the team this season. |
| 17 | Celtics | -1 | 3-4 | The Celtics are fun. With no real expectations this season, it makes the random wins just that much sweeter. We start the season 0-3, and turn around and win by 32 in New Orleans and then by 20 at home against the Cavs. Then hold out and win against Philly in revenge for opening night, and then get blown out by the Rockets. The Neemias Queta saga is fun. Josh Minott is getting a cult following. It sucks to lose in the moment, but this is basically a free season for the Celtics. Lose? You can tank for a lottery pick. Win? No one expects you to do anything and seeing these random role players and draft picks suceed is fun. Even if the worst case scenario happens and the East sucks so bad that the Celtics win 40-ish games and make the playoffs, it'll still be an overall net positive cause it seems like some of these dudes getting more playing time might actually be quality bench pieces that can fold into next season with a healthy Tatum/Brown/White. Between now and the next rankings the Celtics will play 7 times, with matchups against the Jazz, Wizards, Magic twice in a row, 76ers for a 3rd time this season already, Grizzlies, and Clippers. |
| 18 | Magic | -9 | 3-4 | Well that was kind of a shit start to the season. 1-4 in the first 5 games, Paolo looking like a fraud, the Desmond Bane trade already looking like a terrible decision and the defense taking a HUGE step back. Jalen Suggs, debuting the new bald look, is currently on a minutes restriction and not playing back-to-backs is part of the reason for the defensive decline, with the Magic giving up 130+ points in consecutive games for the first time since 2022. The last two games were a completely different story though, holding the Hornets to 107 points and the Wizards to 94. A big part of the change was just slowing the game down and focusing on the defensive end. Set the defense and understand your assignment, limit turnovers and the silly fouls. Paolo also seems to have settled himself down after a rough start, averaging 26/9.5/6.25 with 2 stocks in his last four games. On the other hand, Desmond Bane is still trying to find his place in the hierachy of the team, averaging 15/4/4 but shooting only 26% from 3 and already having mulitple games with no threes made. The bench is currently being lead by second year man Tristan da Silva, averaging 11/3/1 in 21 minutes, and if the team can figure their stuff out and da Silva keeps this up, he could be making himself known as a serious 6MOTY candidate. The bench still needs a little more help, hoping to get it from continued growth from Anthony Black and the eventual return of Moe Wagner. Looking ahead, a bout against the Trae-less Hawks and back-to-back games against the Celtics, one being an NBA cup game, are on the schedule this week. Getting these three games and putting the Magic at 6-4 to start the season would be a much needed improvement after that abysmal 1-4 start. |
| 19 | Hawks | -7 | 3-4 | The biggest thing happening in Hawksworld is Trae Young's injury. Although the team is 2-1 since he went down, those wins came against the 0-5 Nets and Pacers. The good news is that Trae is set to be reevaluated in 4 weeks, so hopefully the team will be able to stay somewhat afloat while he's out. The upcoming schedule is ORL, TOR, LAL, @LAC, @SAC, @UTA, and @PHX, so if the team were to go 3-4 I'd be pretty happy with that |
| 20 | Raptors | +2 | 3-4 | It's early but Jakub and IQ look awful. Let's fix the issues and give it sometime in the next couple of weeks to make a better judgement about this team. The Boiler looks great especially against Memphis. |
| 21 | Grizzlies | -4 | 3-4 | We're approaching year from hell already, but this time it's not just injuries. Another low-leaderhship effort from the best player in franchise history has left the team in a short state of chaos. Without Ja, we're down our top 3 ball handlers and instead have to rely on Cam Spencer and Javon Small, a sophomore and rookie. The results were as expected, bad. JJJ has plataued on defense and has regressed on offense. The lone bright spot, rookie Cedric Coward is has proven he can be the primary defender against any team. He's gonne to work on Luka, Booker, Zion, and in limited minutes has absolutely looked the part. The team will need that level of energy to grow regardless in the direction they decide to go down. A full rebuild isn't out of the question, trading away Ja and JJJ will still fetch a good haul back if the team decides to do so…but will the team make the decision to trade away 2 of the top 6 players in franchise history? |
| 22 | Hornets | +5 | 3-4 | Despite a brilliant rookie class I'm a bit worried by our play so far. 3-0 vs tanking teams in BKN, UTA, WAS, which is all well and good, but 0-4 vs actual teams. LaMelo is still a star, albeit a fragile one, Miller is injured without a timetable, the 4 situation is a catastrophe… I don't see this team doing much this year. At least they're less of an eye sore. |
| 23 | Suns | +2 | 3-4 | First and foremost, this Suns squad is 1000% more enjoyable to watch than the last two years. I never want to hate my own team again. As for the Suns now, are they good? Not really. New coach, scheme, and roster with a severe talent deficit plus injuries, it's not suprising. However, I've seen listless teams that just coast until the draft. This isn't one of them, no matter what scoreboard watchers (haters) claim. There is a clear game plan, the players are bought in and ⋆。°✩ Aligned✩°。⋆, and there are improvements every game. Expectations remain low, but there is something here and it is fun. |
| 24 | Mavericks | -9 | 2-4 | Dallas' lack of guard play has been a major issue for them early on, despite their defense being strong. Dallas ranks dead last in ORTG at 104.2, with a DRTG of 112 (8th in the NBA), and their net rating ranks in the bottom 5 of the league. There are teasers that Kyrie could come back before the calendar turns, but that remains unlikely. Things are dark in Dallas, who desperately needs to see some big offensive performances to get the confidence going. |
| 25 | Kings | -1 | 2-4 | Looking for a ranker, please apply here! You will need to remove the "np" (no participation in the link to apply. |
| 26 | Jazz | +4 | 2-4 | The first week of the season I was worried that we'd be too good, and Danny Ainge would have to put the restrictor on Will Hardy. This last week has shown me that no restrictor is needed. After going 2-2 with our 2 losses being by 3 combined points, we have dropped our last 2 games by a total of 45 to mediocre-at-best opponents. Lauri Markkanen is playing like an All-NBA level player, Walker Kessler has taken yet another step, and Keyonte George has been pretty surprising as our PG. Ace Bailey has been sick and been on a minutes restriction and hasn't looked like his preseason self, Cody Williams has racked up a couple of DNP-CD, and Svi Mykhailiuk might just be the glue our starting rotation needs. It's still tank for AJ/Boozer despite our early whooping of LAC. |
| 27 | Pacers | -8 | 1-5 | The stats aren't pretty. Through 2 weeks, the Pacers have racked up a whopping one win. Their net rating is fourth-worst in the league, and they rank near the bottom of the league in scoring, assists, opposing scoring and shooting percentage. But with 7-8 rotational players injured and missing time, how do you properly evalute this team? You really can't, and until more of Indiana's foundational pieces return to the court, they will have to rely on Pascal Siakam's heroics to keep them in games. |
| 28 | Wizards | +1 | 1-5 | Washington fans are kind of in that space most parents are when they're getting their kids into sports for the first time. It is incredibly ugly but you continue to provide encouragement and postivity, in hopes of getting that kid to want to stay involved and doesn't hate the game completely. Like Kyshawn George has been great at getting a bucket but also has noticeably regressed as a defender while continuing to lack a decent handle. But again, great scorer, please don't leave us. We knew the season was going to be bad but the hope is that Washington can make the adjustments to make the game suck a little less. The second team unit noticeably has had to figure things out on the fly — which isn't necessarily great when your sixth overall pick is having to learn the NBA pace of play while Cam Whitmore calls a QB power audible every time he touches the ball. And Brian Keefe seems to have the coaching decorum of a Kindergarten music teacher, allowing his children to play their instruments however they want to and calling it music. You're trying to cling to the positives as much as possible — Alex Sarr has been excellent to start the season, Bilal Coulibaly continues to be a defensive force. You just can't help but look at the glaring weakness disrupting your entire evening. It is easy to sell yourself on Washington the most when it comes to teams tanking to start the season. Still, you should reduce your expectations. |
| 29 | Nets | -1 | 0-6 | The Brooklyn Nets are still looking for their first win of the season after a flawless two weeks of losing. On the bright side, Cam Thomas has been lighting it up on offense, which is more than you can say for the wins column. Michael Porter Jr. and Nic Claxton have been great on defense, but apparently, defense can't score enough points to win. |
| 30 | Pelicans | -4 | 0-6 | "Lmao the team is cooked. This roster is garbage. The decision makers for this team are morons. They need to blow it up but they can’t even do that because they hired a fucking moron who traded our pick away thinking it would be ok." — /u/jgman22 |

Pacers ranker here, ask away. Keep in mind the first two weeks are damn near impossible to rank lol
This week was VERY hard. So many teams look pretty good but have two or three losses. You could almost hit the random order generator and come up with pretty believable rankings.
Pels ranker here, please send bleach.
Damn I miss when the Celtics were always near the top 😭
I think the Memphis ranker accidentally swapped SAC and SAS – even so, I think Spurs at #2 is way too high. Top 10 sure, but 2??
Bummer to lose Thybulle and Wesley for a little but wild to me that we still have so many good defenders in Camara, Deni, Jrue, Clingan, Grant, Murray and Williams left to help maintain things
Knicks ranker here. Everyone wish a happy birthday to grandma Carol!
lakers #7 with a better record than 3 teams above them while they don’t have their second best player?
I like my team again. Refreshing
nuggets at second despite 3-2 start? I guess both were close road losses to good teams.
there are question marks though around cam johnson and braun both of who have not been great. bench is solid though
Yall not high on us huh 🤣 ( bulls)
Don’t worry I’m not either
Okay 6th is too high for the sixers lol. I would be fine with 12th.
thunder ranker, ama
shocked that my peers rated the spurs so highly (sorry /u/Uncle_Freddy). 5-0 vs their extremely soft schedule didn’t seem to merit that, esp with their loss to phoenix yday
Spurs ranker checking in, sending Dylan Harper some collagen right now. Happy to answer any questions
>In a win over the Cavaliers, Amen Thompson recorded his first career triple-double with 23 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists.
Why is this even on here? This was from a game Amen had last season lol
Sixers ranker here. Let’s talk VJ EdgeGOAT.
Rockets over Lakers is just a ridiculous opinion for anyone to have. We supposed to get excited over wins against Nets, Raptors, and Celtics?
