Ok…I’ll bite. Why?
Stone is out I guess.
Serviceable 7th D-man albeit less defensively sound than Stetcher, assuming that Hanifin isn’t traded before at camp, that leaves our defensive depth chart at: Andersson-Hanifin, Weegar-Tanev, Kylington-Zadorov, Oesterle-???, with ??? being Stone/AHL callup.
Competition for camp. Can never have to many NHL level D. Especially sense Z was the only one of the main 5 playing to play all 82 games (and I can see Tanev missing even more time next season)
I don’t mind this. Apparently he’s a good skater and that’s in line with what they want to do.
I like this a lot. It can help insulate Kylington at the start of the season until he is back in form
Assuming Hanifin is traded our left side looks like:
Weegar
Zadorov
Oesterle (until Kylington is ready)
Then once/if Kylington is back in form
Weegar
Kylington
Zadorov
(Oesterle becomes 7D
Why? Stecher is much better.
