  1. We’re only doing so to drive up the price on the Yankees. It’s funny when they overspend and suck still.

    😎

  2. Hear me out:

If the Rays trade for then sign Shohei…

Avg attendance for this season is 18K

Capacity (no upper deck) is 25k

    Average ticket price is $45

If the Rays believe Shohei can make every game a sellout or near sellout, that equates to $25M more dollars per year in ticket revenue. That’s half of his projected $50M/yr contract

Only about 6 or 7 teams have the farm systems and depth to make this trade: LA, SF (the 2 most likely), TB, CIN, BAL, PIT, CLE

  3. I really hope this is another “there’s no way the Bucs will sign Tom Brady” moment. 🤞

  4. These are cute clickbait headlines.

But unless Ohtani doesn’t mind getting paid in bag-lunches and handshakes, and the Angels don’t mind trading the greatest player alive for a ham sandwich, it’s not going to happen.

  5. This would be a trade for a 3-month lease on Ohtani. No way Rays could sign a new long term Ohtani deal. They might give up a b.lowe plus plus for that 3-month lease

  6. Don’t think it will happen but if it does I will personally go to the trop dressed as a hotdog and run the field

  7. There’s obviously no way we would get him long term, but as a team that needs a starter and a bat for when the rest of the team gets whiff happy, I’m all aboard the short term rental train, as long as we’re mostly giving up minor league prospects.

    Let’s fucking win a title.

  8. We have prospects and a couple of guys on the main team who could be moved. We would only be taking the contract for the rest of this year then he’s a free agent, so money isn’t really that big of an issue here.

In a way I could see it happening and I would absolutely love it.
