Official scrutiny coming on on Brotherly Shove

So says Dean Blandino. Watch out for offensive offsides calls.

  1. I mean that would be a penalty any time. If we had a Guard lining up over the ball it was surely done in error, not too worried about it. Pretty easy thing to not do.

  2. Seems like an easy enough thing for coaches to address – just tell the guards to make sure they line up behind the ball.

  3. Meh. As long as they are also looking at defenders in the neutral zone which happens more often during this play

  4. If teams, including the Eagles, are cheating a bit on the neutral zone on these plays, it’s not a mistake, it’s an attempt to get as much advantage as they can. So it seems very possible to me, maybe they are nudging into the neutral zone, and if they aren’t called for it they will keep doing it.

  5. Does that mean the refs normally don’t pay attention to certain plays? Because that would explain a lot.

  6. When can we go back to no one liking us and us not caring?

Who gives a fuck? We can do it this year. We will have no input on the rule next year.

  7. They couldn’t get rid of it by vote. So, let’s make a couple phantom offside calls to discourage it, huh? It will be real interesting to see if certain officiating teams scrutinize it more than others as season wears on.

BTW sure as shit looked like Bucs helmets were more likely over the LOS on Monday. Where was that scrutiny.

Now in fairness I’d have less a problem zeroing in on Lane’s early back step. He’s really pushing it.

  8. Offensive offsides? What about the neutral zone infractions that we see on every single sneak attempt without them getting called?

DTs are lining up presnap with not just their hands but even their helmets on our side of the LoS and they still can’t get a stop, of fucking course they turn to the refs and cry
