[Nadkarni] Miami’s best lineup during their Finals run last year — Kyle Lowry, Jimmy Butler, Duncan Robinson, Caleb Martin & Bam Adebayo — posted a 24.7 net rating in 91 minutes. Was a major positive in both the Conference Finals and Finals. They played one — one! —possession together this season.

  1. I wonder how much of this were those short periods when Spo put Duncan in and then Duncan briefly hit a bunch of shots in a row before he was subbed back out?

  2. One of our Best and most played lineups this year :

Lowry Duncan Jimmy Haywood Bam – +10.8

And we will never see it again. But swap Rozier for Lowry and hm….

  3. I’m not ready to give up on the lineup yet. At some point this may come down to coaching and/or expectations. Maybe duncan plays more free whereas more is expected of Tyler. In case coaching is the issue. Spo is an amazing coach, not arguing that, but maybe sometimes his plan is “too” complicated where a Tyler is thinking too much instead of playing.

Whereas Duncan isn’t expected to handle the ball or shoot floaters, so just plays free

  4. That’s why I hate box scorer watchers. Kyle Lowry made winning plays and hit crucial shots down the stretch. People were acting like he was absolute garbage. Ofc I’m doing the Rozier trade every time, but much like Butler I feel Lowry had big moments in the playoffs.

  5. I’m not surprised…Bam Jimmy and 3 floor spacers…

Herro can obviously shoot the 3 but he’s not really exclusively a 3 point shooter

    Rozier is the same

JJJ, as good as he is isn’t a floor spacer either

Bam and Jimmy need space to operate, and JJJ Herro and Rozier need to be able to dip their toes in the paint, which is tough because teams just stack the paint when Jimmy and Bam are on the floor together.

JJJ and 1 of Herro/Rozier should come off the bench while giving 2 of Duncan, Love, Highsmith a run with the starters. Closing lineup will still probably have to be Rozier, Herro, Jimmy, JJJ, Bam but they shouldn’t start the game that way.

  6. Spo already knows that lineup works, why would he waste minutes that could be used testing out something new?
