Would have preferred to move Dean, but one of them had to go. We couldn’t keep paying both to play zone coverage with a poor pass rush.
Weirdly ok with this. I loved Carlton but he got the bag then disappeared, not to mention he’s made of glass and is probably one of the worst tackling corners I’ve seen in the last decade
Thanks for everything, good luck in Detroit!
Feel like Dean was a better db, when he was playing. I’ll give it to Davis, he was on the field more.
What’s the return?
I’ll miss Carlton but it had to be done. Injuries and no ints
The man who coined the “gravediggers” defense term for us
We drafting mckinstry or dejean confirmed
What’s the conpensation?!
Thanks Gravedigger and good luck.
Happy with this.
Give me some KOOL-AID
Bucs sending a 2024 and 2025 6th round pick with Davis for a 2024 3rd round pick
Dude is made of glass and can’t catch an INT to save his life. I legit don’t care about this move.
Lions get Carlton, a 6th this year and Next year
Bucs get 3rd this year.
I just don’t get why we do this if we’re not really saving anything tbh. Unless Licht loves a corner he’s confident will be there late.
Goodbye Nipsey
surprised, but not upset. He hasn’t been the same since 2020/2021. A 3rd rounder in return isn’t terrible, and we only really give up one draft pick cuz we got the 6th round compensatory pick this year
IF this clears up cap room that would have otherwise been dead cap upon releasing a great move, gives TB flexibility to sign a FA, maybe a G or a C.
How much cap this free up?
Rather dump dean but we need a new CB anyway, for sure aiming for one in the draft
Hey…. Can we not talk shit about him? Happy with the trade but I wish him the best. Thanks for the great years Carlton
I thought we were getting a 6th… we get a 3rd and give up a 6th. Bucs win the trade. Thanks Carlton for the memories guy had some really good years for us but definitely started to fall off after the Super Bowl.
Carlton is underrated. I understand why the Bucs had to trade him, and the Lions picked up a great player.
I’m surprised we got a 3rd for him. This seems to work out for us and Detroit. Tbh, it doesn’t matter who your corners are when you can’t rush the quarterback. Izian and McCollum both looked serviceable
Good trade for us, but it’s still a bummer to see one of the SB guys leave. Wish him all the best.
Some recent Licht 3rd round starters
2023 – Yaya
2022 – White
2021 – Hainsey
2019 – Dean
2019 – Edwards
2018 – Cappa
Don’t know how to fully feel about it. On the one hand I think the compensation was good, considering he would’ve been gone after this year for nothing, but I don’t like the position it puts us in THIS year. We have to target corner high now, Dean is made of glass and McCollum isn’t exactly great although I think he is progressing. But our secondary is now sketchy with no safety to start alongside Winfield and not much depth. We have a lot of needs. We need interior o line, another RB, edge, secondary, and TE help. I just feel like it adds more headaches for this year.
Regardless, having 4 picks in the top 100 is super ideal and we could always trade back and gain more picks as well. CD was an extremely solid corner in his time here and while more ints would’ve been nice, he was far above average and sometimes great. Thanks for everything CD, including cooking slant boys bitch ass the Super Bowl year 🤘🏻

[This tweet](https://twitter.com/Carlton_Lowkey/status/1351009201238245383?lang=en) and the ring is why I’ll always have a soft spot in my heart for Carlton Davis. I wish him well.
Izien probably getting a promotion then?

Yeah I’m 100% good with this move
