[Mark Daniels] On the NFLPA survey, Robert Kraft said they’re building a state of the art workout facility that’ll cost $50 million. He said he didn’t realize there was an issue with the lack of a daycare and thinks it’s easy to fix.

  1. There’s a lot for Kraft to own up to, and this has been an issue for years now. The NFLPA have ranked our facilities on the low end for years. I’m glad he’s putting some money into it because this all lends itself to attracting players. A few comments on other threads, but this is a job for players and families to consider. Weight rooms are obvious, but daycares are essential for working parents and families.

Edit: Correction. Appears that there may have been a survey, but I’m not seeing it. Weight rooms were graded “D” in 2023. There does not appear to be anything from 2022 that I can easily find. “For years” is misleading as it’s been 2 years thus far.

  2. I thought it was weird that they announced the new weight room with the stadium upgrades, but never had a tour of it once most of the other renovations were done. When the Celtics and Bruins finished their training facilities there were a million tours and pictures for the press.

I guess it wasn’t done last year with most of the other upgrades.

  3. “Wahhh but why isn’t he spending this money recklessly on below average free agents?!? They don’t know anything! I clearly know so much more about running successful a franchise than Krafts!” -Sully at the construction site

  4. Funny how he had to make sure everyone knew how hard he worked and how responsible he was for the dynasty, but when it comes to all this bad shit lately, he has no idea / it wasn’t his fault. Bad, bad month for Robert and the Kraft family.

  5. Probably would have been a better look to do this kind of stuff proactively instead of when you catch heat for it…

  6. “He didn’t realize” the Patriots got similar bad marks on last years report card. Belichick referred to the Las Vegas Raiders facilities as the “Taj Mahal”, and Kraft responded by building a bigger scoreboard for more sponsors.

Long story short: Kraft is lying.

  7. I don’t have much patience for those people arguing that the problem with building a winning team was mostly about “Kraft being cheap”. It’s an idiotic opinion in my opinion. That said, the well below average state of the facilities is 100% on the Krafts IMO. Whether or not it’s because “Kraft is cheap” I don’t know. But the Krafts go to stadiums all over the NFL every year. They had and have a responsibility to see what their competitors are providing their players. If they have then they have ignored what they have seen. If they haven’t then they have been negligent. They should not have needed a NFLPA survey to know how their facilities compared.

  8. I’m shocked that Kraft didn’t realise, does he not have his finger on the pulse of the team?

  9. “It was Bill’s fault”.

    – Robert Kraft probably to any thing that was an issue.

  10. I’ve been reading about the daycare and other facilities that support families in these trash rags for at least 12 years

  11. Bro, where have you been? The issue with the weight room has been called out repeatedly.

  12. can we stop pretending this daycare situation is a big deal? people can’t be this bent out of shape that the team isn’t providing daycare to a bunch of millionaires 8 sundays a year

  13. Great to see we’re finally doing some things to make our team more attractive. I don’t buy that Kraft didn’t realize it was an issue, and frankly, I don’t care. Billionaires only do things for their own benefit, and it’s about time we invest a little more in this team.

  14. I don’t get this. This is easy and cheap. There are services that do this for weddings, conferences, etc.

It took me literally 3 minutes to find a professional sitting service. Let’s say absurdly that there’s 100 kids at every game to babysit (I’m betting 12+ years would watch the game or what not but I still gave each player about 2 kids). Found this website: https://eleganteventsitters.com/state-pricing/massachusetts/

An upscale package for 10 kids for 4 hours is $2700. So $27k per game. $459k per season. This would include stuff animal stuffing stations, crafts, caregivers, meals, etc for 100 kids – again WAY TOO high.

A much more reasonable expectation would probably be 30-40 kids and you’d probably get a bulk discount if you’re doing this 17 times a year.

  15. Everyone has such a hate boner for Kraft after Dynasty, Jesus Christ. As if the players didn’t rank Belichick the 31st out of 32 coaches in the league. Surely everything is Kraft’s fault. Doesn’t matter that he had to force Bill not to trade Tom Fucking Brady on several occasions from 2011 onwards.

He’s trying to fix things, chill the fuck out.

  16. What the hell is going on with our team? Spent lots of money for new lighthouse when we needed so much more done for the team. This is turning into a shit show.

  17. Riiiight Bob not sure how you didn’t know considering this is the second year of this survey and it was basically the same as last year. It also doesn’t bode well if you don’t know what’s going on under your own roof😂

  18. “ we are now getting public backlash so I’ll say I’m working on it when secretly nothing will change “

  19. it’s pretty embarrassing to say this.
    >these have been issues for years, and it’s and easy fix, i just didn’t know about this widely publicized survey.

  20. Does he ever talk to his players that he pays their salary to and ask what is important to them 😂
